MichaelB a couple of points. First this uses an enterprise class refurbished drive. This is a good thing as these drives are designed to be on 24/7 in a server. Second this isn't a fully plug and play drive, some drivers must be installed as per the readme file at the root of the drive. Last of all, as you mentioned several times, running newer systems requires a beefier PC and GPU. Overall I'm VERY HAPPY WITH THIS DRIVE, I have a different version (there are many) without PS3, PS4, or PS5. Gives you access to a ton of games and should you ever buy a retro handheld it's a great source for ROMs without the need for searching or downloading.

​@@GuardianGunmanI did scan for viruses and maybe one was found but the real key is scanning for malware that one I had like low threat but 183 some were mistaken because there had to be hacks to make games work but I didn't care as long as I found them did my due diligence and deleted everything

this is terabytes of data, no matter where you get it from its still 20min/gb

I picked up a similar HDD on Amazon and that SheLion reviewed and its terrific, also was only like $50 US

Just got this hard drive and been playing with it for hours. I do consider myself an expert on emulation and could build this myself but I can assure you guys it would take months to years to set something like this up depending on how you go about it. So far everything has worked with controls including the pinball stuff and all the obscure stuff. All the teknoparot stuff is working and pretty much everything I've tested so far. Only a few systems like switch and a few others did not have control setup but most of the controls are set. The only other gripe is you might have to use the esc key or alt 4 to close some systems as the pre programed two button process on the Xbox controller does not close everything but closes most systems. If something is not working its probably related to the individual setup. This is definitely the real deal and would advise to grab it while you still can as something this good is never meant to last..

It’s rubbish I got one.

This is the BEST review I've seen on this product! I had no idea of the lack of ps2 games until this review! Surprised it lacks RPGs like Final Fantasy lol come on man! Still think it's a great product for the price though! Think I'll wait for the "upgraded" product in the future of though lol

Great video Mike, that's not a bad price for a 12TB drive. I paid $254 for an 18TB drive and installed RetroBat. KinHank has been notorious for not curating their game list, looks like it is a bit more cleaned up in this version (from what I could see, not as many duplicates). All-around, a decent buy.

My NVIDIA GEFORCE has a directory where I can add folders that have games so that it can scan and optimize them for the best possible gaming performance. Can i add this whole hyperspin folder and drive to it or will that cause problems???

Thanks man! Apparently you can get Tekno Parrot to work but it requires some work/ installation which I didn’t try

What controller do you use? Love the emulator but having controller issues.

I have this but my controller button mapping is all messed up even for nes. Like nes B button is jump and fast forward so when you jump you fly off and die. How do you setup controller mapping?

Does this have a full screen option or are all games played in windowed mode?

My son bought me a Kinhank MiniPc system with 60,000 games for Xmas and it works great. He was going to get me one of these, but was hesitant because of possible viruses or malware being on it that won't be detected. There haven't been any posts from anyone with such problems, but who knows. Guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

Best emulators for sega consoles? Love Sonic as much as the next person but it’s hard for me to find stuff for Dreamcast, 32x, Saturn etc.

Based on what ive seen, this device should be in the range of $200 for a good deal, but they sell it at 299 on amazon, and 254.99 on aliexpress. I rly wanted an updated hyperspin front end, so I bought one myself with some discount. The higher cost seems consistent with this brand.

Emulation is the way to go

Forgot to mention that there are some other installation steps to add some font and .NET stuff. The unfortunate thing is that Microsoft Defender finds several Sever and High Risk files on the drive after you scan the entire drive. So, best not to add this stuff to any PC that is going to have access to internet and you have nothing important on your PC just in case there's some Trojans and key stroke loggers. Also, there are still several non-functioning games, mechanical pinball games and duplicates on the drive. I could not start any of the Philips CD-i games, it just comes to title menu and you can't get it to do anything. I used to have a CD-i system and back in those days it was a lot of family fun (had a large collection of CDs too).

Can i run all these games full screen or fit to screen with out the boarder visible in these examples? Is there a option?

I have a dedicated mini pc I wanna run this drive on. Can you set it so that the pc automatically boots to the drive so I won’t need a keyboard and mouse?

I have a full-size gaming cabinet with a Raspberry Pi hooked up at the moment, so I wonder if it's capable of utilizing my 4 player joysticks with USB connections if I convert the cabinet to PC.

That's what I'm trying to do is get a hard drive fill it up with games. The problem is that Xbox360, PS3,PS4 and Nintendo switch will require a large 20 to 30tb hard drive, and that's hard to find a large hard drive with that much space.

What pc would run most of this hardrive??? Looks amazing

Also, if I was to purchase this, do you think I would be able to organize it the way it's supposed to be organized, and would I be able to delete and add games? For me the most old games run totally slow ... if I press the space bar it switches to hyperfast ... I have a Ryzen 9 3900X with 64GB RAM and Geforce 3090-Ti ... should not have such a problem. All Drivers and the font which come with the harddrive are installled. It seems this is an issue of the RetroArch emulator which is used for almost all consoles. (tried different cores and frame skipping settings ... did not change anything) By manually loading the games with the emulator I found out that they run at normal speed in a smaller window. When I pull the window bigger in size the emulator can not hold the speed and slows down until I decrease the size again. Does anyone have an idea what could be the case ?

Did you ever get the light gun to work? If so how?

Anyone have experience with adding Wii remote with dolphinbar for light gun games. Also anyone know how to save progress on games? Xbox one controller has no configuration for save button. Any help would be great thanks

Could any of the games that were unplayable have anything to do with your computer? I heard many games on this machine need a good quality video card or they won't play.

CHECK THE DIFFERENT AUDIO DRIVERS IN THE EMULATION MENU.

Emulation is the way to go.

I have the same Hyperspin, but it wont let me launch ANY games whatsoever. Dont know what im doing wrong...

Switch games do not recognise the keyboard nor the xbox controller.. has anyone found a solution for this ?

The ps4 games are actually pc games and some of the emulators will work by opening tje emufolder and setting up manually

If it uses retroarch, then yes

Just got a 12tb drive with 86,000 for less than this one. One current system has 200 games, and less than a $1 for each game. Definitely worth it to me. *****. Everyone, Don't think you can hook this up to a weak pc and play current systems and games. For newer game systems & pc games you NEED a gaming PC with graphics card!!!!!

I don't want to hook this up to my PC. I want to hook this up in my living room to my 50-in HDTV. This isn't like the other one they have out where it's an Android box hooked up to an hdd. I think that one you can plug into your TV. I understand the one you're looking at because it has to run off the power of the PC. I have a raspberry pi for now and I like it but it's got its issues and Saturn and Dreamcast games really don't run on it. I want one that I can buy and not have to worry about buying another one also with light gun games

Be very very careful with the Kinhank drives I bought the 12 TB and before using I ran webroot on it. I am only 20 percent thru and it has found 6 different malwares. They may have sent you a "clean version" but this one definitely is not !! Be super super careful and scan it and don't connect it to your wireless !!

You are aware there are such things like false positives, right? There are abaolutely no viruses in any of these, and it is ridiculous to claim so.

no you need something to run the game, this is just a drive.

Red Dead Redemption didn't come out on the PS2, Red Dead Revolver did.
