Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Reaction: Wes Ball Adds Another Winner to the Franchise
Ойын-сауық
The social media embargo has lifted, so here's my Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes reaction!
Directed by Wes Ball, the story takes place several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign. Owen Teague leads as Noa, a young ape who comes to question all that he's known when forced to face off with Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand), a tyrannical ape leader who's relentless in his pursuit of humankind's technology, history, and communications.
Catch my brief thoughts on the film in this reaction video!

I liked the first Maze Runner, but I wouldn't call Wes Ball underrated. His last three projects were panned by critics and audiences.
Literally the first reaction I'm seeing for this movie. I'm really hoping this film lives up to the hype!

WHATA WONDERFUL DAYY!!!
So happy to hear it's on the same level as the Caesar Trilogy and the original 1968 movie!

This is like the part 2 if the series...cannot wait
Marathoning before watching it 🤘🏼 Great post as always
Great to hear it is good. Always enjoy your reviews Perri!
Yesssss!! So excited for this one!!!

Awesome Review Your the Best!
Thanks for your thoughts. Looking forward to seeing it. When does the review embargo lift?

Fuck it, Wes Ball.
Peter Jackson Working on New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Films for Warner Bros., Targeting 2026 Debut The first film, which will center on the character of Gollum, has Andy Serkis set to star and direct.🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love the Planet of the Apes franchise especially the trilogy we had in the last 15 years, I'm not going to watch much more footage as I don't want to spoil it for myself but given the trailers we've seen it looks epic as a movie goer like me and my mum have got unlimited cards for our local cinema can't wait
Amazing, the 1st 13 minutes we saw at Cinemacon were fair to the film; it's EPIC. It was made on a 120 million budget, 30mil less than the previous film.
Ah, human see, human do
Kevin Durand…that is all

Freya Allen for me, personally.!
Excited to see this one! I'm just ecstatic for this! Also, so... is The Legend of Zelda movie in good hands? Hoping that Avi Arad doesn't screw it all up...
🙌🙏
Is noa Caesar great great great great great great grandson because he resembles Caesar and does noa have Caesar birthmark?
Wait you've watched the whole film already?

Does that turntable work? I hate IP. Sorry.
I’ve enjoy the reboot movies, but there is diminishing returns with each sequel. I have zero excitement or expectation at this point.

@jesseowenvillamor6348 What is "wrong" with me is that I'm a free thinking person, not a commie with hive mind thinking. You stick with what your leader says you should like. I like differing opinions and diversity.

Glad to hear this is a winner. I'm ready to see this series go back to make up and prosthetics and retire the cgi though.
Perri is one of those critics who never criticize a movie after the premiere. Or else she might not be invited to more premieres... I don't trust her.

Then why are you here?
The Hyperbole used by critics to describe this move is insane. Say what you really think Perri and stop treading the line in fear of getting roasted by youtube momos and not going with the trend. This movie was OK, but it has NO story. All you collider/schmoes/former AMC reviewers say the same everytime. How about being a critic for a change. Break the mold and say the truth like Jeff Sneider and Andy Signore ain’t afraid to do. That’s how you stand out and be real. We all see through this shit now
It’s very hard to trust the opinion of someone who thought “Scream 6” was the best movie of last year. KZread Film criticism is worse than it’s ever been.

Scream 6 was the first of its franchise to surpass 100mil domestically; it was also well received critically and by audiences.

The objective ‘best’ or merely their favourite? In any case, it need not ever be “hard” to trust; opinions on movies are in healthy supply, so it’ll take little effort to source others.
