I think they are a play on the previous Planet of the Apes. Maybe Caesar's son, the one that lived?

Love the reaction. May I offer a little insight, if I may. I believe the Apes franchise will eventually connect to the original 1968 movie. In "Rise" they mentioned the "Icarus" spaceship just took off for it's mission. The Icarus was the name of the ship that crashed back to earth 1000 years after take off in the original movie. In "Dawn" at the end of the movie Caesar was talking with Malcolm the human and said "he was wrong in believing apes were better than humans, they were just the same." All because of Koba's ambition and need for revenge after years of being used in lab experiments. In "War" Caesar was proven right that the humans would not forgive and blamed the apes for the fall of human civilization, even the cause of the virus. Even though we the humans created the original virus as a cure for alzheimer's disease, the apes were blamed for it. Like with any virus there was a mutation taking away human's high function to be able to think, reason and even speak. The Caesar trilogy may seem like the same plot of "apes and humans" fighting one another but, each movie the stakes for the apes is higher. They are fighting for their very survival. Caesar's story is an example and an examination of humanity. Sh!t hits the fan and we humans either rise to the occasion or we dive deeper into our darker side. Caesar and the apes begin to find their humanity. They just want their freedom, to survive and be able to grow as a new society. We humans had thousands upon thousands of years to learn and grow. The apes picked it all up all the basics in a few years. This new movie is set 300 years after Caesar's death and yes it seems our hero may be a descendant of Caesar who disagrees with Proximus the King. Hopefully it will be another trilogy and if this is as successful as the Caesar trilogy, there would be another trilogy set another few hundred years after this one which connects to the original 1968 movie. Great reaction ;-)

Thank you so much for your insight on the past movies as well as your thoughts on this movie. I do think it will be great just based on the previous movies. I also agree that in the previous trilogy the stakes were raised in each movie and it played out beautiful. Thanks again for your comment. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The next trilogy should be set at least 1000 years after this one, assuming they adhere to the old timeline with the icarus landing in 3978. I just hope I live to see the eventual remake of the ‘68 film lol

Oh wow, thank you so much for your comment. After reading, I now feel I have a better understanding. I believe I may actually like this one after having a more thorough background. I do feel it is the same story line though.

Nearly 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017),[2] ape civilizations have emerged from the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes, while humans have regressed into a feral, primitive state. When the ape king Proximus Caesar, armed with weapons forged from lost human technologies, perverts Caesar's teachings to enslave other clans, the chimpanzee hunter Noa embarks on a harrowing journey alongside a human girl named Mae to determine the future for apes and humans alike.

Idk about looks good, but I would still watch it. I just hope it does not seem like another repeat of all Planet of the Apes.
