They need to run KH at every GDQ. The community always provides informative and entertaining commentary, the Disney songs are entertaining enough, and the runs are highly technical and intense. I watch speedrunning for the glitches, but KH is the exception to that rule.

Any run with SpikeVegeta on the mic makes me wanna watch it.

I love this run so much! Helped me a lot when I need to replay KH 1 as fast as I can.

Seems this one was accidentally uploaded twice. Unless this one was intentionally uploaded with TWENTY-THREE SECONDS OF NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN FOOTAGE, then it was one of the first uploaded on this set of runs.

+Youa Numbah Oneah Racist All videos are fixed up after the event. Reasons include: 1) Fixing technical issues if possible, such as the echoing audio on the uploads for several runs early in the event. 2) Normalizing the audio track. Most runs will end up being louder. 3) Removing the takeover ads played during setup times. 4) Adding title cards, including run, category, runners, and an approximate time when the run starts. 5) Putting interviews with the run they belong with, as sometimes there was a schedule gap (the Super Mario Kart interview was done before Diddy Kong Racing, for example).

+Youa Numbah Oneah Racist It's been done this way in some form since AGDQ2015. SGDQ2015 was the first time the runs were uploaded during the event as rough copies, with fixed up versions in the weeks after the event. It's our plan to continue doing so for the future.

Only found out about AGDQ in Jan 2017and just found this now as I was about to finish my first ever play through of KH1. Incredible to see. These guys blast through a game I've just been battering my head against (although I was grateful to learn just how OP Air combos are!)

That hold during Gaston alone should be a highlight for AGDQ 2016.

It’s pretty funny that this game enforces it’s theme of friendship pretty great through gameplay, but speed running completely flips that and the party members are an obstacle.

all time most beloved and enjoyed game!!!

Interesting fact: the agrabah world marks the only times in the game where Sora uses his actual keyblade to unlock doors! Other than that it’s beams.

The Kingdom Hearts intro is just so .. _delightfully_ Japanese.

Anyone else get chills in the beginning of the run when SpikeVegeta was naming some of the runners? It's amazing how big this community is and will always be something I look forward to every GDQ

I never realized Mushu was so OP I need to use summons more.

Chris Leung if your talking about the chernabog fight then yes it works the glitch is usable once you have geni and on any boss you have your allies the catch is its better at lower levels because of the world scaling bringing your damage up

The plot is fun, but the highlight is the combat system, the worlds and the boss fights. ESPECIALLY in KH2.

I wonder how much time the PS4 version can save since loading times, transitions, drive forms etc so much faster

This is my favorite speedrun. Love how there are no glitches, no questionable skips or boundary breaks. This is a legit run with nothing abused but the knowledge and skill needed. One of few runs where I want to stay for the whole thing Edit: also their sense of humor is actually funny and entertaining, and singing was also great

+Lynx They added a title card at the beginning, and may have cleaned up minor details (I couldn't point them out to you, though). You'll see almost every video from AGDQ 2016 get uploaded multiple times as they build the final playlist.

What is the EXP 0 trick on the Dragon in the end of the game???

That Hook fight was too intense, I was so nervous for him when that second blizzard whiffed.

I did not own a PS3, and I never played 1.5, but I played KH1 on PS2. When I saw this, I assumed it would be impossible because the cutscenes were completely unskippable, but now that they added this to where you can skip, it's like square enix waited all this time to finally make the cutscenes skippable

I would love to see more platforming in future KH games... By that I mean good platforming.

There's a glitch with EXP Zero where the game saves the power of your last physical attack and applies it to any magic/summon damage you do, which causes multi-hit barrages like Genie and Mushu to do loads of damage if your last attack was a finisher. I assume it only exists because of the way EXP Zero has to affect damage numbers so you're not dealing chip/instantly dying to most enemies and bosses past a certain point.

tom wagner You have to realize the the runners and commentators are there to enjoy a fun week with friends, and not really for the charity work. It also makes more sense once you think about the fact that they don't know which donations are going to have heartfelt messages and which ones are simply going to be another unoriginal joke about killing animals.

I know this is so late, but in addition, the couch needs to be paying attention to what's going on because they're supposed to be able to tell the audience what the actual runner is doing. It was very poorly timed though. And I wish he had just waited. He knew they were reading out donations. But there's also the possibility that he just said something habitually/got excited and jumped the gun. Sorry again I know your comment is already a month old >_

Holy shit, what is it with all this negativity towards the singing portions? All of them did a great job for doing this live without even knowing the words by heart. Jfc people chill, it is neither cringey nor is it totally out of place, this is partly a Disney game after all.

I just watched this yesterday, and when I got to Halloween Town, I wanted to use the community jumps. Except I can't. Because Square patched out the first bit of house you have to jump on. There's just roots dangling out the side of the tower there in the Greatest Hits copy of the game.

How do people understand when theyre playing the japanese version of the game?

Is it ever worth to set Donald and Goofys patterns in the menus in any KH speedrun?

there is no EXP zero that saving your time... Also no cutscene skip until PS3 port.. WR for PS2 version is 5 hours because no cutscene skip

KH1 Sora sounds so much less like a wimpy kid in the Japanese version.
