My hope is that they let Tetsuya Nomura tell the story. Cause arendelle is an example of Disney controlling the narrative and I hated it. Arendelle was a beautiful world but I disliked it the most

@Milkyway2099 Personally I think Mat Pat was definitely on to something because let's be honest the Frozen world from the beginning felt extremely off compared to that of the other worlds at the very least I don't think what we ended up getting was what was originally intended and yeah I agree with you it was more than likely a lot of red tape because of Disney interfering.

Picture this: in KH4's next trailer, it features no Star Wars at all, but at the end, a black screen, and... A lightsaber is activated. Trailer ends.

8:00 In regards to EA. This is somewhat aged now. EA's rights to exclusivity of Star Wars ended in January 2021. The Lucasfilm Games label is now the licensing brand for all IP from the Lucasfilm production. This was not the case when Nomura did that interview. Hence also why we've got a bunch of non-EA Star Wars games in-production and announced now over the last year or so.

EA no longer have exclusivity over Star Wars games, there are a number of games in development from a few different devs including Ubisoft.

I was just thinking this too. Especially because EA fucked it up so badly. The only recent games that did well enough were Squadrons and Fallen Order.

I just had a revelation. What if this is the kingdom hearts game that specifically deals with worlds set in space? Star Wars, Wall-E, and Treasure Planet? Maybe even throw Atlantis in there for good measure.

Imagine a cutscene of Sora having an argument with Luke and telling him that you need both light and darkness and that you can’t have one without the other.

They both believe that though. Luke had learned balance from Yoda and taught his followers to balance the force also. And Sora learned it from Riku and Mickey, along with the requirement for mastery.

I do wonder if the keyblade is light Saber proof or how they would explain it.

When I think of Star Wars in KH, I always think of Xemnas. I mean, the first time we saw him, we thought he was a Sith Lord because he uses red lightsabers and Force Lightning.

I've always thought that Star Wars would make a great addition. The parallels between both franchises is way too good. I think that they could do a thing where the Light and Darkness of KH is just a different interpretation of the Force. Like Night-Sister Magic is actually Force Powers. Sith Lightning can be Dark Thundaga

I mean, Luke being an unlikely hero, to grow and learn to become a master because of the past/what came before him leads him to NEED to, really is similar to Sora. I've always thought the light and dark of the Force was quite similar to the Darkness and Light of KH. And the lightsaber battles of modern times are somewhat similar to a KH Keyblade battle. All in all, imo, Star Wars in KH is a no-brainer.

Sora would need his own ship to visit yoda, since Luke took his x-wing and it only has one seat. Also I think this would fit vary well in the series because we are visiting the world of fiction. Witch makes the most sense to do other IPs.

If it does happen. I was thinking for the star wars world that it should be done in a episodic way. With Sora party members being Obi-wan and Anakin, and in each visit he's slowly seeing Anakin slowly turning into the darkness. Then on his final visit, he comes in during order 66 and came to the after math of him slaughtering children and help Obi-wan fight him. Or, the last actual visit is helping Luke fight Darth Vader, and Sora realizes he's fighting Anakin.

I'd say episode 6 would be a good final visit. With the line "The heart may be weak. And sometimes it may even give in. But I've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out". Since it's a video game you'd team up with Luke and Vader to fight Palpatine. The fight would be during the scene Vader, i guess technically hes sort of back to being Akakin now, saves Luke. It would still end with Vader dying and not kingdom hearts dying. Final scene would be him seeing Akakin as a force ghost and smiling because he found his way back to light. This is Kingdom Hearts after all. I guess this could be used for a visit during a next game kinda thing as well though, kinda like tron and how he was rinzler when they next met but regained his memories at the very end of the world.

@@hanakoisbestgirl4752 On Rinzler, it was a bittersweet ending; while Sora managed to spark memories in Rinzler, the guy who made him so messed up in the first place stated in the same cutscene he'd undo the positive effect Sora had done on Rinzler in DDD. Sora is well aware that he can't save Tron, as he laments at the end of the scene iirc.

With the more _realism_ graphic overhaul that we saw in the reveal trailer I think it's very possible we're going to get the other Disney properties in Kingdom Hearts, I mean it makes sense. Nomura even said that when Disney got the rights to Star Wars & Marvel that Square was already too far into development with KH3 to make any of those additional worlds. The whole light and darkness theme that has been carried throughout Kingdom Hearts for years would be so fitting for Star Wars with the light side and dark side of the force. I'm hoping we would get something though in the original trilogy or the prequels, preferably the Clone Wars series. I'm also really hoping that when we get Disney worlds we've all been begging for years, please just give us Treasure Planet!!!!!!!!

I didn’t see the AT-ST foot when I watched the trailer originally, but I’ve played every version of Endor in the modern era and that forest in the KH trailer just felt so damn familiar that when the foot was pointed out I knew, they’re bringing Star Wars in and they’re being slick about their hints

I wonder if Nomura would make a Star Wars world similar to the Caribbean, but in space. What I mean by that is instead of sailing around the ocean looking for islands, you would be out in space looking for planets. This would also mean encountering enemy ships in space for you to fight. So it would be sorta meshing the Caribbean with the Gummi ship stuff. After all, a huge part of Star Wars takes place in space, not just on the specific planets. I don't know if it would feel right if we didn't have the space battles.

People out here forgetting the first xemnas fight, it's something most likely already in the works

Not gonna lie I would love Sora to be apart of the Death Star battle. And a clash with Palpatine like how Xemnas did with Sora in KH1 Final Mix. I don't know how to feel with Sora getting a lightsaber like weapon, but if he could get one similar to Ezra's first lightsaber that'll be cool.

I can just imagine, the Gummi ship flying next to the Millennium Falcon or an x wing, as a kid and even now I think that would be so cool.

I hope the Star Wars Keyblade’s Transformation is a saberstaff.

If we do get Star Wars and it is the Return of the Jedi story all I ask is we get Mark Hamill AND James Earl Jones to reprise their legendary roles as Luke and Vader.

It would be crazy if in the Star Wars world because of the parallel that sora would actually tap into the darkness to fight against someone like vader or maul and have to be trained to keep a balance before he gets drunk on it

“Continuity issues” Why would self contained worlds like Star Wars or Marvel mess with the continuity?

I’d really like to see the Disney villains (or in this case, the Star Wars villains) to play a larger role in the overall story like they did in KH1. They should also get Dave Filoni to help write the Star Wars world story. Seeing him and Nomura make something together would be amazing

What I wanna know is how they will adapt the gummi ship as a starship!

Will there even BE a Gummi Ship? Remember that Sora is now stuck in Quadratum, the realm of Unreality, and can't go back to the Reality of Kingdom Hearts. Because of the fact that this place is completely unknown to us in terms of how it works, we don't even know if the means of transportation between different worlds are the same since the ruleset is likely very different.

1. The world should start with Sora crashing on Tatooine, stranded in the desert. Luke finds Sora & brings him to that cave in the deleted scenes where he constructs his new lightsaber. 2. Also if Sora is to get a light saber it needs to look like a normal saber blade (like the mod). I don’t wanna see a Saber blade shaped like a key. The hilt can look however.

I wonder how the Heartless will affect the story edit: Imagine fighting a massive heartless starship while Luke is on the Deathstar or something

Yeah, the Heartless ideas basically write themselves when it comes to Star Wars. There's so many alien species, vehicles, flora, droids, and other shit that could be turned into a Heartless.

I want and think Sora should be able to travel to the Stars Wars Galaxy in any timeline by using the Power of the World Between Worlds from Stars Wars Rebel it just works perfectly with the themes within Kingdom Hearts especially with how the portal looks (Just like the Dive to the Heart in a way) like something that would fit in Kingdom Hearts Here's a quote from The Book of The Sith it does not work well with the whole theme of Kingdom Hearts 4 take on life, death and everything between: Beyond the known Galaxy beyond even the unknown regions lies something far greater the World Between Worlds this mystical realm connects all of time and space creating a conduit between the living and the dead those who control this plane would possess mastery over all of existence but gaining access has proved an unexpected challenge having touched this unusual realm for but a moment I recognized the unfathomable potential it holds its power must be mine - Sheev Palpatine Imagine Sora exploring this starry-eyed place hearing different voices from the Star Wars Mythos and exploring each portal or the portal that only the world between worlds will allow him visit.

The force is strong with this game.

EA no longer have exclusive rights to the Star Wars licence so that’s likely why we’re clearly getting Endor as a world in KHIV. 😊

I am only worried that potential issues with rights and Disney not having the guts to let Nomura handle the writing entirely will delay the game immensely, otherwise I am up for Star Wars in KH 4. And just a small remark I do believe that the major part of the budget should go not in to Disney content but to OG Kingdom Hearts content as Quadratum, Yozora and more time for the story and plot itself.

It would be amazing if star wars was the first world Sora went to. Sora would be weak and seeking power. And palpatine would help

Tetsuya bout to watch your Star Wars synopsis in KH4 wondering how you guessed the entire Star Wars world lmao

EA's exclusivity deal is over. Ubisoft has already announced their own Star Wars game and they aren't alone. We'll be seeing a lot of Star Wars content from other studios. Square accessing this license is easier than a traditional studio because they have already worked with Disney and Marvel on other games. Plus, didn't a Star Wars level leak a while back for a mobile Kingdom Hearts game that was cancelled?

It would be ducking amazing! However due to Sora's more complex clothing design, I think it would feel more appropriate to have him during the Prequels Era. Those who know will understand why KHIV Sora's design might break the Original Trilogy lore, however not too much with the Prequels.

Biggest problem I have is that they're likely starting with Episode 6. I'd rather have them start with either 4 or 1 and it could have been a movies series shown throught the many games to come. So unless they wanna do some time travel, we're likely getting the sequel trilogy in later games. Ugh~ If they started with episode 1, then Darth Vader could be Anakin's Heartless. Addition: EA no longer holds the rights to making Star Wars games.

If they did a star wars episode per game I'd love it to be something like this for worlds. Maybe going back to worlds like KH2 style. Ep1 - Tattooine for podracing minigame, naboo and maybe coruscant (not much to do but explore on that.) Ep2 - probably be fine just doing Geonosis. Ep3 - Coruscant, Utapao and Mustafar. Ep4 - Tatooine and Death Star Ep5 - Hoth and Bespin (Could maybe do dahgobah as a minigame/ training world. Ep6 - Tatooine, Endor and Darth Star.

It'll be interesting to see how Star Wars is implemented. Let's just hope that, in general of all the worlds in KH4, Sora actually feels like they were part of the individual world stories because they felt like they weren't even there in the KH3 worlds aside Toy Box and the Monster's Inc world

100%. The worlds in kingdom hearts 3 were just fan service (except toy box). The stories had nothing to do with the main storyline. They were just side quests until you got to the key blade graveyard.

Can't wait for Sora vs Thanos or Sora be in AVATAR/Pandora World

A great plot line would be would be The Avengers/SW Heroes vs Galactic Empire/Thanos, lots of epic potential moments right there. It would be awesome seeing Captain America take on stormtroopers, or the banter happening between Starlord and Han while engaging TIE fighters, or seeing Luke and Sora train and conserve on philosophy. With whole experience with god level capabilities of the Unreal 5 Engine. Most Epic Crossover Ever!

This just gets me even more excited. KH4 needs to come out now!

Since the new Rescue Rangers film, Disney has no ground to stand on about "respecting the integrity of our IP", so let them actually tell a story that is compelling and unique to Kingdom Hearts.

I’m glad people are starting to come around to the idea of Star Wars and Marvel being in KH. I mean if they are going to continue KH then we will need more worlds and more stories to draw from and we have experienced most of all the Disney worlds now that Disney has acquired both Marvel and Star Wars I see now reason why KH should be solely Pixar/Disney/Square Enix alone.

@@JP-1990. We definitely ain't getting anything about Treasure Planet; That movie bombed hard and Disney themselves have a habit of pretending a lot of those box office failures like Treasure Planet don't exist.

As both a Star Wars and Comic Fan, from the first time I saw the KH4 trailer, the forest gave me Endor vibes and it really tripped shocked me. But the Darksied battle, gave me huge Marvel vibes (like Spider-Man specifically for some reason). I do know that for some time Disney has now allowed other companies other than EA to do SW, there’s one in the works right now I think. As for marvel…ironically SE has done the Avengers and Guardian games before, but that’s in the wind now that they sold off that studio that developed them. It’s definitely known that Marvel/Disney gave Sony a license for Spider-Man and Wolverine games exclusively. I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty certain something big is coming to KH4, and it may just give Pixar’s inclusion a run for it’s money. There’s still a possibility that we could see a video game world as well.

To be fair xemnas has been using lightsabers since KH1 so it was always hinted at xD

if we do get star wars PLEASE let it not be the sequels 🥲 + maybe playing with the idea of a gummi ship dog fight mission (…imagine that colorful ship fighting TIE Fighters lmao)

I think it'd be real neat to only hear about Palpatine until the very end and when Sora sees him he kinda has flashbacks of Xehanort.

I'm excited but I still want classic Disney properties to return and continue to be added to the series.

Of course. I'm pretty sure Disney themselves are perfectly fine with other classic IP's both returning IP's and newcomers coming to Kingdom Hearts.

Please, let this addition happen. It is time we have cameos from Star Wars making a crossover with their Final Fantasy cameos, this would be EPIC! 😁

I would love to see a star wars story in kingdom hearts

EA no longer own the sole license for star wars games! That has since expired, and there are now games for star wars being made by many studios including quantic dream and others. So legally this is a possibility and they'd only need to talk with disney. Star wars is owned by lucasfilm which in turn is owned by disney - I think that's how it works at the moment. So, they'd just need to talk with those two. I think it's quite certain that SW will be in KH4.

I can see Ezra or Luke Skywalker being the party members besides Sora.

EA lost this Star Wars exclusivity years ago (probably because they did a lot of bad stuff with the IP) and that is why there is new Star Wars game projects being announced by other companies recently

Hearing Mark do another voice in KH would be surreal

I will say this Square Enix has been involved with Marvel before. The Avengers game and although it didn’t do so good. We could potentially see Marvel in the next KH game because they have already established a connection

20:26 Why only scratch the surface? Think bigger. Star Wars is not a world. It's a universe. Kingdom Hearts is a universe as well. The entire universe of KH4 can be Star Wars. Of course, including the space segments.

Actually here's the thing whilst yes EA has a contract to make Star Wars game's however a little while back EA completely lost exclusive right to make Star Wars game's so no I don't think Square Enix has to have a contract with EA that wouldn't make any sense.

Square Enix also has Marvel game Contracts

I'm really hyped for the star wars world and marvel world too in Kingdom hearts 4.
