Re Mind finally gave us the chance to play as some of the Guardians of Light in proper boss battles, and - no need to say - I couldn't wait to play as an HD version of Roxas and KAIRI. KAIRI! Our girl knows how to put up a fight! I'm very happy we are able to play as other main characters besides Sora, especially if this helps giving much more value to them. Especially Kairi, who even managed to stand up to Xemnas in one of the new cutscenes and was so pretty controlling her. Although she totally made me feel bad whenever she got hurt by a creepy old man waring some weird mask surrounded by giant keys. Also the tag team attacks were super sick! And I was almost tearing up whenever I used Roxas. Since I put a lot of work for him in my Timeline project, it felt amazingly incredible being able to play as him, again, in a proper HD Kingdom Hearts game. Definitely the whole DLC made all of the Guardians of Light look much more relevant to the player's eye. Night walker Where did you get this information from? There is no proof yet that the foretellers are stronger then xehanort, his old age might be a disadvantage but still xehanort was listed as the most powerful keyblade wielder in the journal (reports) twice not to mention no other character showed soo much feat and power as xehanort did, have you seen anyone like the foretellers or Sora do something like what did xehanort did in the fate of the unknown fight? With just one hand he caused a catastrophe and handled 3 keyblade masters with ease (yes terra and ven are masters even if they didn’t get the title) so yea Prime xehanort (even tho we never saw his prime self) is probably the most powerful character alongside MoM, and also we don’t know much about the foretellers other then the fact that they are powerful ancient keyblade masters, they could be tied with Xehanort or either below or above him, so we won’t know until we see their feats.

Sora can use Barrier & Counter Blast when using Classic Tone's Boom Hammer/Clock Drill or Hunny Spout's Hunny Blasters/Hunny Launcher, both of which utilize Guardian Form. He can use Nano Shield & Nano Counter when using Nano Gear's Nano Arms, Light Guard & Light Burst when using Oathkeeper's Light Form, Dark Guard & Dark Burst when using Oblivion's Dark Form, and Blade Barrier & Counter Blade of Ultimate Form by Ultima Weapon. And glad to know Kairi knows Barrier & Counter Blast alongside Riku and Aqua.

The funny thing about roxas is he is fully capable of no hit running his fight with Saix using the mechanics that we are given when we play as him. So it is confirmed that his AI was just at the max level, and that is why he was untouchable when you were not playing him xD

not gonna lie, i'm writing a goddamn fanfic that's been in circulation for about six years now, and one of the abilities the second main character uses (and so does Sora, against a literal GODDESS OF LIGHT), is unconsciously wielding the "Power of Kings", which i was going to later on explain it as "an inversion of the 'return to sender' power inherent to keyblades, delivering the wielder to the blade, instead of blade to wielder". AND THEN FUCKIN KAIRI PULLS SHIT SHIT OUT! I'M SO FUCKING PROUD OF HER! That automatically makes her more intuitive than any of the other wielders. Cause this girl's the only one who goes "wait...i can call it back to myself...what if i called myself to it?" Also i imagine she face-planted into about twelve trees, practicing that trick.

Fun fact: According to the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, the Armored Xehanort Sora and Kairi fight is not the real Xehanort, but the Replica Xehanorts fused into a copy of Armored Xehanort, which somewhat explains why this Xehanort is strangely silent during cutscenes. During the main story, after Sora, Donald, and Goofy defeat the Replica Xehanorts, Master Xehanort absorbs them to create a suit of Keyblade armor for himself. After they defeat him and break his armor, Master Xehanort sends the Replicas to deal with the remaining Guardians of Light while he fights Sora and Co. with the X-Blade. Just clarifying things for those confused.

Kairi's combos are suprisingly very quick and agile she can cover distance and the teleprting Strike Raid is so useful to quickly get out of hits. It makes sense in canon she would have lower stats than Sora but man for her first fight being 13 keys Xehanort with all his crazy moves especially DM I wish they gave her more health.

That was made clear in the first game. And Sora is just Sora. Strongest heart, and some of the most experience in real battle of the group. @@mattomanx77 Plus, he's been sitting around in Sora's heart since 2 started, but hasn't managed to get trapped by darkness or anything, so he got to keep the EXP he had earned, and likely took some amount of notes as to what Sora was learning from his comfy passenger seat. So that's all he had already learned, which was mostly "kill heartless as fast as possible", plus all the stuff Sora has been learning throughout these games, but sans him losing it all every game since he wasn't the one driving headlong into every trap in existence.

OK. 3 things I wanna point out. 1. Aqua's Cartwheel is still broken, even in here. 2. Roxas is quick and strong as heck. Like, what did he do to achieve that power?! 3. Sora and Kairi finally having a Finisher together. At this point, add Riku so they can have a different finisher: Friends Forever.

He needs to use more spells other than Firaga and Curaga. For as long as we played as him kicking ass as epically as possible all over the games, this game pretty much ruined him when the AI controlled him. Not much variety in attacks. At least he can dodge roll, but the AI is still letting themselves get hit by every attack. Ugh... 😑

Sucks that we cant play as Xion, Ventus, Axel, and Terra. They're the ones who's return was extremely hyped up about, but they're regulated to a group fight. With Xion not even fighting much aside from being a reflect caster. Hopefully mods can make them playable since they're all technically partially playable.

Well, now that you say that, Terra and Riku's Keyblade are one in the same. Riku is Terra's successor, and Riku trusted Terra to keep a secret to him, even after all this time. And what he said after he defended Riku really showed how much he cared for him. It's just like he said in Birth by Sleep on the Destiny Islands. "One Keyblade is enough for any friendship."

When you realized Ven, Lea/Axel, and Xion isn’t playable with their own HP bars and ability.

Well look at that kairi is no longer the damsel in distress. She’s officially in the list of princesses who kick ass. Like princess Fiona. Cause damn they made kairi look like sakura, the entire game. She thinks shes doing something but the main characters were doing all the work. Thank god they fixed this for her. It was sad thinking she was just plot convenience for sora.

I was honestly waiting for a heroic mickey moment ever since. I'm kinda surprised why it took them so long to pull one off considering, you know, disney.

I genuinely love all of Re: Mind, but I'd be lying if I said that playable Mickey didn't give me more feels than any other moment in the game. Nomura finally stepped up and gave the king the respect he deserves as a hero!

The animation cancelling in this update is so smooth! I love it! And the new combos are clean as hell, too.

Agreed! KH3 doesn’t get nearly enough credit for including defensive cancels. Between that and still having proper hitstun, that would be reason alone to say that KH3 is at least as good as KH2FM.

There is no doubt that Riku, Kairi, Aqua, Ventus, Terra, Roxas, Xion, Axel And King Mickey should be playable characters along with Sora in future Kingdom Hearts games including Kingdom Hearts 4 like think about it the one thing i wanna See In Future Kingdom Hearts games including Kingdom Hearts 4 is the ability to change playable characters and party members at anytime just like in Final Fantasy 13. Like for example Sora as leader and Riku and Kairi as party members or Aqua as Leader and Ventus And Terra as party members and the list goes on and on the possibility are endless

Did anyone Notice the feathers. It has the memory between Sora and Kairi. It's beautiful.

While I love these fights I'm still amazed that Squenix decided they won't give us a way to change Riku's/Aqua's/Roxas's/Kairi's shortcuts. The number of times I died because I used ether instead of cure is astounding
