I only played VII a long time ago when I was younger, and I could never escape the Mako reactor at the beginning of the game before it exploded. +Uks notorious pereira Yeah. To be fair, I was like, eight years old? I wasn't able to really read mini maps or retain location information. I'd always end up back at the boss area. Then the time would eventually run out and I'd explode. And I wouldn't mind playing the remake, (PS4) but no money, so doubt I'll ever get a chance. I bet Sephy is super epic in it though. He looks like Psaro. And Magus. Mostly because Magus and Sephy were modeled off of Psaro... But that just means they're all cool!

Michael Girone I don't wanna be "that guy" but this was... decent. I beat Sephiroth after Space Paranoids AT World Level 45 on CRITICAL Mode and a couple of days ago fired up the original KH2FM and did it again at around Level 39 or so. I'm not gonna say because I'm better he's worse, I'm just saying, from an experienced and veteran standpoint... this was good, just not as great as you're making it out to be. Still, I think over time, AntiVerse will get much better, since we all start somewhere.

I'll always remember how brutal the KH1 fight was. I won all the Coliseum trophies feeling like an unstoppable badass, then saw the Platinum match was an option and was like "hm, wonder what that is". Saw Sephiroth for the first time, ran towards him like I did to all enemies not knowing what to expect, and he immediately swung once and killed me with one hit. I literally dropped the controller in shock.

Warrant Officer Schrödinger Actually, Sephiroth can block some in the KH 1 version, he just teleports more in KH 2 instead. And Larxene and Marluxia can block using cards in chain of memories, as well as endure and counter attack in KH 2 FM. Marluxia can actually become hard to hit once he gets into his annoying ass void zone spam and teleport slash spams.

So what i mean is, you attack them, they block and do an attack that sends you crying for the ultima blade.

Warrant Officer Schrödinger Uh cards ARE part of their styles lols. Spells, attacks, defense, sleights, buffs, almost everything is cards in chain of memories, and numbers/counters, just as the commands you use in other games have counters. Vexen's shield would probably be the exception since he can block with it without using cards, though it's heavily vulnerable to the right attack cards. And Sora and Riku have stat based health and a regular dodge roll, but their regular block is removed from the game to have you use the cards to block instead. If Xemnas were in CoM, his barrier would have also been a card because it is a spell lols. "in alot of games bosses are meant to be hard to hit as a "fuck you" to the players." Uh...no. They're hard to hit because that is the way they are designed lols. To give them realistic physics and challenge, much the same as the character you play. Saying they do that just to piss you off is..well..childish lols. "So what i mean is, you attack them, they block and do an attack that sends you crying for the ultima blade." Yes, it's called a counter attacking lols and several KH bosses have it. It's called Ultima Weapon btw.

Warrant Officer Schrödinger In Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy the enemies can Block and counter if you attack reckless. I hope in KH 3 the Bosses can that to so that you have to be careful with your attacks.

No no, they vanished to Dissidia first. Then, when that world was destroyed, that's when they went to Smash ;)

Sephiroth; one of the many villains to hold a smile, even after being beaten. What makes an unstoppable villain is one who cannot be broken.

so when the fight starts Donald duck and goofy are gone most likely got one shot

There's 3 things that could have happened 1_they did get one shot 2_Sephiroth used something off-screen to pull them out of the arena and used that barrier magic Xaldin used before Beast's boss fight 3_they hid somewhere

+Rushmiles Like I say I would summon Stich. You need Donald and Goofy to summon. Its irrelevant if they are OK ore KO, But you need them fore summoning. If you summon Donald an Goofy get taken out of the battle. Stich is a very big help. He can heal Soras MP fore free. He do that randomly but very very often. Often when i reach in second phase low HP I have to use a Item becuse I need my MP fore Reflega to deal with the dark orbs. With Stich I could spam the hell out of Curaga and Reflega. And than there is his Ukulele which stager any enemie which can be staggert. That includes Bosses like Organisation Members. It gives Sora randomly attack opportunitys without any risks. Also no risk of Anti Form, costs only 3 Drive bars and the Friend Gauge get restored when you land hits so Stich easily lasts the entire battle if you have 6 bars. I have not played KH2 FM but I heared in that one Stich is even more broken. i heared in that version he plays his Ukulele constantly when Sora has low HP and his Ukulele let the enemies drop HP orbs. That sounds like the combination of Stich, second Chance and once more makes Sora almost Immortal. Maybe I am wrong at that part. I have to try it out when I finally can play this game. Anyway Because of Stich Sephiroth would be an utterly joke in terms of difficulty if Donald and Goofy would be in that fight. Thats why I am happy they are not in this fight. I could not resist to use Stich. I love him to much. On the other hand it would be funny when a adorable little Alien would lead to Sephiroths defeat.

+Evelyn L. because neither Donald or goofy can survive the first "that's enough" reaction command even at max levels and if (for some dumbass reason) you dump all the attack and defense ups on them.

I must have heard "show me your strength... that's enough" at least 100 times

I just used Curaga right at the last moment as he triggers it, I was surprised when I first did it because I thought it was luck but I tried to do it again and I actually got it to work again so that was my part of my strategy when I fought him besides using reflectaga on him constantly.

+Evelyn L. that doesn't necessarily true tho. sometimes they would just get in a way. do remember that goofy tornado or goofy bash could actually knock enemies out of your combo. which will give them the opening to counter your silly ass to oblivion. and also. donald tends to use the magic that the boss is immune to of you didn't turn off the magic skills. (Donald Thunder, Fire,Etc..)(first hand experience of seeing donald spamming thunder on larxene)

Soooo I'm guessing KHIII was what led to Sora following them not long afterward.

When I was a kid and found out the voice actor of sephiroth was superman had my little mind blown both of my favorite characters have become one lmfao good memories and now he's in smash ultimate

Just to think, Sephiroth merely fights you for sport.

People say this fight is hard, but the original KH2 on PS2 was harder because you don't have Limit form to spam, and it was confirmed that he had better stats in the the original, but in 2.5 remix he was nerfed, AND I FOUGHT HIM ON LEVEL 63 PROUD MODE, just something to know before you say this version is harder than the PS2 version.

almost every remix is made easier by things that made frustrating mechanics easier. and it wasnt even that hard tbh. pick up a ps2 or pcsx2 and a iso of it. the REAL difficult fight was KH1 and that was just because of mechanical issues with the battle system itself.

I have ultima weapon level 65 and drives a vary high level on the original, and I still have not beat him.

"Cloud went to fight a great battle." Yup, a Dairantou, where he Smashes with other Bros, Ultimately, and soon enough Sora, you'll be there too.

When i heard the Sephiroth theme playing i directly had a PTSD vietnam flashback as a kid.

So that's how Cloud got into Smash...

+rockslide64 When Cloud went with Sephiroth to that other place he finally defeated him. Cloud soon found out he was in the universe of smash and the whole roster saw how amazingly he fought, so they invited him to join the battle of smash.

+Pale Moon i just can say...shapeshift,illusion attacks,black materia,frivking supernova...just to name a few. whats interesting is that kotase stated that sephiroth never could unleash his full potential and that he somehow was always limited. I hope we can see his true potential in the ff7 remake.

Pale Moon not really,sephiroth could actually destroy the earth since he was given the black materia but he didnt on purpose. remember his goal was to becoe a god by absorbing the lifestream,if theres no planet then there is no lifestream to absorb. thats why he didnt destroyed the earth (also possible explanation to why the supernova didnt destroyed the earth in 1 try...because sephiroth didnt want to)

actually no,jenova wanted to suck out the entire planets energeay because thats why it was travelling through space seeking for life on planets. since spehitroth fused/merged with jenova it also become part of sephiroths plan. And how are you gonna erase all life without destroying/absorbing the lifestream,which is the source of all life on the planet? sure a supernova could but that'd interrupt jenovas plan which is the explanation for sephiroth not to use supernova in the storyline and besides that the lifestream still could possibly exist without earth,floating in space,searching for a new planet to fill with life until jenova/sephitoh get on this planet again and the only way to possibly stop this cat & mouse play is for sephiroth to absorb the lifestream.

in the movie he searched more for revenge on cloud as he doesnt go into Jenova/safer sephitoh mode or summoning meteor/supernova. he wanted revenge,destroying all life was only his 2nd plan. and also when 1 person dies they merge with the lifestream so why not feed the lifestream with countless lives/energeays and THEN absorb it? It would make so much more sense if your goal is to gain more power

hard to understand but inglish not god eitr XD However I think he has the ability to absorb energeay directly from the lifestream without technology,that could be a additional-possible explanation to why he considers himself to be a cetra(although he isnt). But lifestream actually HAS to do with life on gaia,as shinra began to harvest the energy from the lifestream the life on earth began to suffer from pollution,poverty,death,etc and lifestream also heals the planet if damaged to keep it "alive". now the more people merge with the lifestream the bigger the lifestream gets and if you kill every human the whole energy of the humans adds to the lifestream,we can see that when in the movie cloud saw aerith coming from the lifestream and healing his geostigma. because aerith died and became one with the lifestream(all life comes to the lifestream and ends in the lifestream). thats why I'd make more sense to kill all life before absorbing the lifestream.

I love how Sephiroth is like “eh you’re mediocre, cloud is still best boy”

2020 and i still play kh2 such a masterpiece game

This is my favorite representation of Sephiroth in battle. His moveset is beastly. The only thing he's missing is a block. You really shouldn't be able to just walk up to him and hit him without prep. The one thing that's clear in all his FF7 fights is that his defense is ridiculous.

mah kh3 needs to have sephiroth in some shape or form. hopefully as a optional boss

I think hollow bastion/radiant garden is suppose to be the final fantasy world.. thats where they all say they came from in kh1

ok as a new fan to the character, I gotta ask, just how strong IS Sephiroth? Judging from what he can do in this boss battle (and a few things like cut scenes and movies ive seen him pop up in) the dude is like a walking Death Star for lack of a better example, and he's CLEARLY holding back

In FF7, the game he is the antagonist in, he gets really really close to his plan of absorb the life force of the planet to accent to godhood. In the movie Avent Children, he briefly comes back at the climax to fight Cloud at the ruins of what was once the larges city on the planet and he is cutting through whole segments of reinforced steel and through whole segments of buildings. I recommend playing or at the very least watching an LP of FF7. A Complete is a longer version of Advent Children, IIRC the fight with Sephiroth is longer and Zack Fair has a larger role.

Sasuke Uchiha well in FF7, after he got thrown into the lifestream in a fight against cloud, which is where all souls go when they die and are merged therefor lose their individuality. he had a contest of willpower against an ancient being called JENOVA that was as old as time itself in the lifestream, and he won. and he's able to maintain his consciousness in this lifestream against the trillions of souls that are meant to absorb him. for all intents and purposes, he controls the life essence of the planet, or can atleast manipulate it to a degree. and that's not even any of his combat feats which go something like this: -can cut through skyscrapers like they're made of butter -can summon a storm that engulfs the entire planet with a flick of his wrist -he can move so fast that it seems more like he is teleporting (which he actually kinda is). -in the final battle against him in FF7, he held back the force of holy with his telekinesis / willpower, and it is the planets ultimate defense against any threats. he did this while fighting the party of cloud and his friends. -and because he made JENOVA his bitch, he is also now pretty much completely and utterly truly immortal due to the JENOVA cells in his body. im not sure exactly how it worked out again, but the only way to kill him once and for all is to kill every single JENOVA cell in existence... which would be the same as trying to kill every single bacteria here on earth. not fucking happening, unless you blow the planet to pieces. the really scary thing is, he's done all of this and has never even been shown to strain himself or even break into a fucking sweat. the true power of sephiroth is unknown according to the creators of FF7, as he is also the strongest being in his universe. oh, and i feel you should google FF7 supernova. its his strongest attack in the final battle, and there's really no words to describe it.

Phoenix13524 except for besides losing to cloud due to insane PIS, no one has ever even come close to giving Sephiroth a challenge. which is why no one truly knows the limits to sephiroths power according to the FF7 creators.

I knew this was gonna be a badass fight when he had about 15 hp bars, one winged angel kicked off, and he had 15 HP BARS!

I couldn't find Sephiroth after clearing Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, so how do you initiate a fight you can't activate? HELP

I love a story that comes full circle.

The amount of suffering this man has put me through.

Sephiroth speaks entirely in clichéd villain dialogue and coasts by on having the most badass theme song ever.

Back on ps2 I tried this fight once at level 50 knowing i had no chance at winning but wanted to see what i was in for, didnt come back till i was level 100 and still lost in under a minute, this game never failed to amaze me
