Kingdom Hearts will always be special to me, but it will be different. I have no one attached to the memories of this game. Just me and the game, alone, in my room, crying quietly enough not to be heard over the music. It was my pick me up after a long day of dealing with people, or simply an escape from reality. It still is. I was old enough to hang onto memories when I started playing it, I remember every single thing this game carried me through. But now I have to hide it, switch on my escape in the wee hours of morning not to be caught, volume all the way down and door locked. There is a reason why I cried in my room. But for this game? All worth it

It's wonderful to have that energy-memory connection with the person you will always love.

The thing is this wasn't just a game with great characters and stories. It was apart of our story. A part us all. It may never be a game that gets lots of fans or praise, but it has impacted us more than other games could.

Rock Me Rough I understand it now. When I had released this 1 hour loop, I had not played through KH1 or 2 but had watched let’s plays of those. As of now I have been 1 on normal and 2 on Critical and I can stay I absolutely love them. Even if I die a billion times to Sephiroth.

Why does this feel so nostalgic even though I’ve never played a Kingdom Hearts game in my life? Tbh it does feel like it can be a Zelda ost though.

2002, Gamestop. I was there to pick out a game. Heard the music to Kingdom Hearts after the intro while you're standing on the big glass portrait of a princess in the tutorial. That dark, almost ominous song. I gave the game a glance but went searching for a game. Didn't find much, maybe a used game or two I had thought of buying in the past. So, kind of bored and kind of frustrated, I waltz over to the game I had glanced at moments ago and start messing about. I defeat the giant shadow creature and upon realizing I was smiling so hard that my cheeks hurt. I bought the game. I even remember bending over to pick up the strategy guide, that had the 99 dalmation stickers so you could keep track of which ones you've found already, when the cashier said the guide was 20% off when bought with the game. I miss when games used to invoke this sense of experiencing something new and wonderous. The game industry is in shambles when it comes to this nowadays I believe. No bravery, no wonder and in a time when player feed back should be looked upon as a possible avenue for redemption. Rarely are our words taken and used to both of our benefit. I suppose we will always have our memories to look back on.

I remembered my stepdad playing this all the time and whenever he went to pause the game, this song would play and put me in a trance, of course, when my stepdad fell asleep I would sneak into his room and just listen to it till I fall asleep, this melody is utterly beautiful and heavenly it makes me smile and cry as that lost nostalgia fills me with happiness....

This is how I get to sleep at night and has been for many years. It is such a beautiful peice of music it makes me feel safe and gives me hope.

This game was fun. I used to play it on my PS3 and I still play it now. I love the game and the music it had. It's just...beautiful.

I've never had the game but i remember that my cousin who was older than me had it. We would always play at our grandparents apartment, now that they are very old and with my grandfather very sick this hits very hard

I love this song I’m still young but I remember playing this sitting down with my mum or dad playing it and taking turns and trying to figure out how to complete each level and boss without dying I don’t wanna grow up😢🥲

I am so happy that i learned of kingdom hearts. It was not only a game, but it teaches some lessons as one is playing the game. That, and it's also relaxing too.

I’m only 16, but I remember when me and my grandma would play this and when she showed me how to play. I was so bad at it lol, but I started getting the hang of it, but then school and all those other things called responsibilities hit me. I had a really bad day the day I listened to this. I was looking for calming music and stumbled upon it. It brought tears to my eyes from all the good memories and fun times I had playing this game. Even when I was younger I thought the soundtrack was amazing

Alittle piece of Sora and the characters all reside in us even if it’s alittle bit, to either care deeply of others and your peers, seeking the same types of loving friendships, this was a masterpiece because we all could relate to the characters goals

not even a kingdom hearts fan but this piece is beautiful brings up good old memories of the past that are not even connected to the games the slightest

What is it about, seemingly, this song in particular that touches people so emotionally? Like they're in a dream, or remembering something that brings happiness, sadness, or something beautiful to their heart? I've noticed it with all my friends who played Kingdom Hearts, and even if they didn't play it, they have similar experiences with this song. I feel like the song could probably move mountains and bring people together on many different emotional levels.

I was 12 when my cousin showed me kingdom hearts, he tried to show my other siblings kh but none of them liked it, i was the only one who did. The game was super important to my cousin and it was his favourite video game of all time and so far its mine to.

you thought you would make me cry with that intro, Ha, its actually just the onions i'm cutting.

People who've never played this game won't understand the way we felt and the way we still feel about the series to this day. I'll never understand why I'm so attached to it. I got to learn this song and play it maybe them I'll get the true satisfaction of this song.

As someone who didn't grow up playing these games as just wasn't my type of game at time I didn't play them till about 5 years ago at which point played through them all, even so no music from a game has ever triggered the kind of nostalgia and happiness I get from hear this. Just hearing a few notes and instantly I start to smile and this wave of peace just rolls overs me like everything is going to be ok it is my favourite video game soundtrack ever

I LOVE this song and was first introduced to the game by my aunt when she was in her 20's, i was 10 at the time. Now i am 15 and cant get enough of the music. My interest was sparked recently after a twitch streamer i watch (Maruooki) was playing the whole Kingdom Hearts series.

2006 - best summer ever: Family vacation with all 6 of us, two army courses, got my motorcycle license, went skydiving, and in between all that: some Kingdom Hearts 2 with my two brothers.

This game and it's music has helped me out with life in general that it's so inspiring

Story time The first i played kingdom hearts was when i was 5 or 6 i thought this game was reallly cool i kept playing it till the final boss gave me depression and made me paranoid 5 years later i found the ps2 that still had kingdom hearts i told my self "Time to end this i plugged in the ps2 and started grindind for munny to buy potions To defeat Ansem one of the hardest bosses i have ever fought i also looked at abillities and use block and dodge roll and many more my personal favorite is ars acunum so when i finished grinding for munny i changed to a key blade that deals alot of damage in this the pumking king keyblade or something like that i fought the boss 80 times to beat him it was a hard road but the ending gave me nostaligia of all those times i played this game the endind were riku and king mickey closed the door hit me hard along with sora getting seperated by kairi AGAIN but it was all worth it Now its time to play cards in the chain of memorys...

Man, this brings back memories of playing this KH1 with my best friend in elementary school circa early 2000s cause he had a PlayStation and I only had a PC at the time. Then later I got a PS2 and played KH2. I also got Chain of Memories for the Game Boy Advance but never got past Riku's story arc. Maybe I'll try again on the newest remasters lol
