@@igoromelchenko3482 Bohemia wasn't really hit all that badly compared to western Europe by most epidemics for the same reason eastern europe kept heavily armored cavalry while western europe moved to lighter and less numerous cavalry but more pike and musket some time later - way less dense cities with more distances between each other, it was way easier to single out any hotspot.

Definitely the most hyped for a game I’ve been since BG3, KCD1 was truly excellent and I trust that Warhorse will deliver with this sequel

They announced that KCD2 will have a button to switch between different clothing sets. You can get pretty good bonuses with the right clothes in the right situation in KCD1, so this is a huge QoL.

Omg, I'm just replaying KCD1 and it's such a hassle to change the clothes. Or let my character have low charisma

The "cinematic feel" I think is largely thanks to Danel Vávra's direction. I mean this legend has made/directed Mafia, and it can hardly get any more cinematic than that game. You can definitely feel Mafia's dna in kcda.

@@ivorysamoan Yeah Mafia ending was absolute stunner. Vladimír Šimůnek's score was masterful. And then lords of brooklyn in credits! So awesome. Huge shame Dan's version of Mafia 3 was not greenlit, but its cancellation prompted him to leave Take2 and start his own studio....and frankly, KCD is even better than Mafia. So it was blessing in disguise. Although I still hope his Mafia 3 script will be made into a game someday, it sounded awesome (you were supposed to play a cop and a gangster, two characters, and kennedy assassination was huge plotpoint).

Though I played over 200 games in my life, I remember my KCD playthrough rather well (including the DLCs), and I really did experience things I never did in other games. I never used fast travel and roamed the entire map, which is pretty big! (took me over 200 hours)

Really great memories from KCD. You could go see a scribe to teach you reading if i recall right. The crafting "minigame" with alchemy or sharpening your weapons were also immersive.

I just started to replay the first one after a long break and I forgot how much I enjoyed playing it.

I am incredible excited about this, not only because I love KCD, but I also live and grew up about 30km from Kuttenburg (Kutná hora). The cathedral of saint Barbora is magnificent sight and right next to it is medieval Ossuary with chandelier, chairs and other items made from human bones, victims of the medieval plague. The Bohemian Paradise is Český Ráj and it´s beatiful nature reservation. The "twin-castles" in trailer is Trosky (literally means Ruins) and is located close to Bohemian Paradise. But honestly being in central europe, you can hardly go about 30-50 km and not to encounter yet another medieval castle. I also visited pretty much all the main sites from the fist KCD before the game and I was just blown how true to reality they made it. Can´t wait for the release!

Props to Warhorse for working behind the scenes and revealing a game that is close to completion, with loads of information and an unusually open attitude. Even if it gets delayed, the wait from announcement to release is likely to be much smaller than what we are used to!

KCD is amazing and definitely worth playing if you have the patience to get into it. I am looking forward to KCD2. I really enjoyed training up the weapons skills and then going out to beat the crap out of the Cumin invaders. I just started a new play through and loving it.

Hope the new game will have a VR mode. This is the perfect AAA+ game for VR.

Fuck this obsession with the GOTY etiquette, sometimes a game being just good (even with noticeable flaws, like DD1 back in the day and now DD2) and not a masterpiece is enough. Sincerely: A mecha fan, who´s personal GOTY last year was Armored Core 6.

I was surprised to see this announced with an ETA not too far off! So hyped for this continuation!

I've been to Kutná Hora which is the modern day Kuttenberg. It has one of the most insane cathedrals, and I can't wait to see that in game

I am so excited for this game. The first one is easily one of my favorite immersive sims out there. I loved the alchemy mechanics, hunting, combat, everything about the game was so damn cool. It was a ridiculously immersive experience, especially on the Hardcore difficulty. It was just so shamefully clunky in some aspects. Especially the combat system, even if I really enjoy it, felt so damn janky at times with its poorly flowing animations and inputs that wouldn't always register properly.

A stream with Hardcore mode would be epic.

It is true that KCD 1 has been the only game developed by Warhorse Studios so far, but that doesn't mean they were inexperienced. Dan Vávra, the founder of Warhorse was a lead developer of Mafia 1 and Mafia 2, which means he certainly knew what he was doing.

Yea but a lot of people on the team weren’t. But yeah most of the top guys have experience. Otherwise making a complex game like this wouldn’t be possible.

Wish a company (Warhorse) made a game in 1st century AD where you're a German of the Suebi or Alemanni Tribes fighting Romans. I really want to be immersed in that setting.

Would be pretty hard because we don't have much sources so everything would be mostly fantasy. I'm glad they went with the early 15th century. It is still medieval (I'd even argue that most people imagine this kind of medieval when thinking about medieval period) and we have enough sources to make it very historically accurate. Story, architecture, clothing, arms and especially the combat take as much as they can from historical sources. Also 15th century was a very turbulent times for Bohemia so it makes it really interesting. It's just amazing to play what we've been learning about at school in history lessons. :D

As an older player with limited skills, the combat is what put me off in KCD1, I hope there will be a more accessible option in KCD2.

Playing the first one with mods for a second time and im having a great time. The attention to detail is incredible and all the side quest are meaningfull. By far one of the most immersive games i played. Cant wait for the sequel.

Can not wait for this to drop! I was so surprised to hear that the studio was so small during the development of the of the first one and I loved playing the first one. The second one, with a larger team, SUPER STOKED!

They started with 11 people but they grew throughout the development of the first game to over a 100 people when KCD was released. But yeah they have gotten significantly bigger since then.

I haven’t played the first KCD game, but this looks great! Also, getting a glimpse into historical regions you don’t typically see is refreshing!

PSA, KCD2 will be split between two different maps, one is slightly larger than the first games, and the other is slightly smaller. Together COMBINED they are 2x the size of the first game, so it's not just one massive map

I honestly didn't care about some jank (and wasn't ever about saving schnapps system), and combat became pretty easy after stealing great gear. Although I acknowledged how janky some systems were, and how it ran on launch (I've experience it). This is the most immersive game I probably ever played, and I love the idea about being a literal peasant nobody, and not a “chosen one”. Literally having to learn how to read, which is acknowledged within the certain quests by NPCs (as just one example, also RPing as a poacher is a personal favorite). So many small things and quests, it was just great, probably going to replay it again before KCD2 comes out, and kind of hyped for it.

I'm not sure is he has any help but I would assume that the cutscenes are directed by Daniel Vávra himself. He said that he studied famous filmmakers like Spielberg for example. He's also the one who chose Jan Valta as the composer for the game because he wanted the soundtrack to sound like something from John Williams and he had Valta in mind. I've been to live concert of the soundtrack from the first KCD in Prague O² arena which was something. Jan Valta was conducting it btw. We were there with several friends from our LARP group and we were in medieval costumes of soldiers from Talmberk. We had a chance to get a photo with Dan Vávra, Luke Dale, Jan Valta and other actors and developers and when the event ended and almost everybody left we were standing in front of the arena smoking and suddenly Jan Valta came out of the door and joined us so we got to talk to him for a bit. Medieval RPGs are the best!

kdc1 is also one of my favorite games of all time as well

One thing I'd like from KCD2 is *adding more perks related to achievements or completing quests* For example, if you won the tournament then you get a perk that boosts your intimidation and charisma checks because you are a powerful famous badass Or if you donated money as indulgence then you get a temporary exp boost for a while

Said everything I feel about the game. A very immersive game where everything you do it make you feel accomplished. For instance, in the first game Mutt helped me catch lots of rabbits. He's a good boy. Great game for exploring. Not to find missions or treasure, though there is great treasure, but to see the world.

My main two hopes for KCD2 or 3 or whatever long the series last: 1) Battle of Grunwald in 1410 (Skalitz was razed in 1403 so Henry could realistically fight there) where Poland, Czechia and Lithuania pretty much dabbed on best western knights. 2) Meeting Jan Zizka, the guy that literally invented tanks 500 years before UK did with his armored war wagons carrying cannons.

Lol, I love how just as you say that "new comers are welcome', in the video the 'new comers' shoot the gate guard full of arrows!

Man, KCD was such an amazing, immersive experience. Except towards the end where my Henry became an unstoppable monster of a man. I'm very excited, and very curious how they will work in the fact that Henry is pretty experienced in combat by the end of the first game, being able to take on even the most highly skilled opponents.

KCD and RDR2 are the closest things we have to a working time machine. Magnificent works of art. KCD2 is my most anticipted game currently in development.

I sincerely hope that the devs put in the option for KC:D2 to read the information of saves from the prior game. I would love to just enter KC:D2 on the back of either Shadowmere or Warhorse Jenta (forgot her name).

If you are going to start KCD 1 as a new player or returning i suggest Hardcore mode because it is THE immersion of all immersion that you can find in a video game. It was made for it and i promise you will have a blast. NOW if you want a challenge you can grab all the negative perks at the start of the hardcore mode. This is also a suggestion because some of the perks come into play during the game and might be even benificial at times, i know crazy right? Just have fun and hope KCD 2 rocks the RPG world.

Looks amazing. The horses look great! I only wish I could choose what my character looks like. I just wishlisted this on Steam, though, and will definitely follow news about it.

I really hope they kept the layered armour system from the first game, just refined a bit, and the ability to tag inventory items you don't want to sell would be very much welcomed.

If they came out with a dueling arena for players I could see this game getting a pretty competitive side to it too. Their combat is great.

I have to go back to complete KCD1... I quit the game after finding a full chest of endgame armour at the edge of the map, which broke combat completely and made Henry into a tank. The loot goblin in me also wouldn't allow me to leave behind valuable gear on enemy corpses so I would haul it all back to pawn. I think they should make high tier loot a bit more rare.

Started my first ever play through yesterday as KCD royal edition is/was £3.99 on the PS store. It's a shame it never got updated for this gen of consoles with the loading screens it has etc but the setting is so nice. I'm sure I'm in for a journey though & looking forward to taking sir Hans hunting after I finish work 🤣

Well it looks like it’s time to actually beat kcd 1 now. I spent so much time stealth killing guards to sell their armor that I just kind of forgot to finish the story

Im concerned that this game won’t be finished or optimized at launch so no preordering, but Im keeping my hopeful eye on this title. I also tentatively question what “secrets” we will find in the complete absence of the supernatural and advanced gear-type technology usually found in puzzles within games.

I know RockStar mentioned awhile ago that they would do a "GTA" version but set within medieval period This actually gives me a little glimpse of what that might actually look like. I'm looking forward to both of their releases

literally just take a walk through the woods in this game. not on a path. look at all the traces oh humans and animals over time.. the world building is so good. even like.. realistic areas for where there's tree stumps ...foliage is insane. If KCD 2 runs at 30fps on my PC.. ill be happy lol

I played KCD three ttimes already (yeah it IS that good imo) and will play it the 4th tiime now to prepare for KCD 2 where i can FINALLY get my reve.. errm i mean Henry's revenge! P.S. In addition to the alchemy system they finally bring Blacksmithing into the game (which they couldn't do in the first)

Ive put over 2000 hrs into this game and in my recent play through I did a side-quest I’ve always passed over and ended up lock picking a chicken while trippin nutsack with 3 ye old bar lizards😂

My only concerns are performance (I'd very much like to play it on the Steam Deck) and the Hardcore mode. Without the "Hardcore" mode the game will be much less fun.
