There's no shortage of KZread videos of musicians (not just Bass players) who think that by playing hundreds of notes, very fast and loudly, is impressive. As Shania Twain would say "That don't impress me much". But this lady has "Groove" and "Musicality". A real pleasure to listen to.

An excellent musician with an excellent instrument can deliver excellent music . That is exactly what happened here. Kinga's arsenal of sound effects is not to be underestimated either ;-)

Kinga is playing the bass as a fundamental Instrument and as a melodic componet at the same time. Jaco achieved this for the first time, but Kinga is far from copying...a voice for herself. What a talent!!!

Hi there, agree with you but was Jaco the first? Weren't there others like Mark King of Level 42 that started to use the bass as a keading instrument for instance.... I just realized that Jaco was in fact playing bass before Mark King....silly me 🤔

I've never been a big fan of Jazz, to the anguish of my father and hardcore jazz friends. No doubt, Miles Davis, Coltraine and all those cats were geniuses to rival Bach and Beethoven, but their sound felt too "melancholy" for my taste. Traditional Jazz chord progressions never "uplifted my spirit". (Traditional Jazz makes me feel like I'm indoors on a Rainy Day) Then came Kinga. Kinga more expresses how I would like to hear Jazz, or even if you don't wanna classify it as Jazz, I mean, call it instrumental improvisational music, or Modern Jazz, or Neo Jazz, or Urban Contemporary Instrumental, or whatever, let's not split hairs, that's a waste of time when I just enjoy her sound....modern, energetic, and uplifting. And she looks so cool!!!!!

Doug Wallace, I feel the same about the melancholy with certain (jazz) music. I have loved some of Lee Ritenour's repertoire though, it "uplifts me". Songs like, Night Rhythms, Latin Lovers, Linda, Asa, Rio Funk, Is it you, Bahia Funk, he has a huge back catalogue, some of which may sound cheesy, we all have our own taste. Hope you enjoy.

Well stated..As a jazz saxophonist, jazz has many forms, take your pick...free jazz, big band,bop,smooth....etc.....I would consider her music as pop, with some funk, primarily her bass style.....I'm very excited to see a young musician get to the big stage....and yes more of her music will come...she is an inspiration to all musicians.

Thanks for your comment. You're right. Even the name of the second keyboard player was wrong. What a mess. I checked all names now and corrected all descriptions.
