More please
People always say the grunfeld is a lot of theory so nobody plays it, so then when i play it and know like 6 moves white never knows what to do, its underrated, that being said i really love your kings indian explanations and would probably rather you continue with that

What about if your opponent goes e5 after we move our knight f3? It keeps happening to me it hurts my setup/play cheers for kings Indian

@@nickandrews2255 not sure what you mean, the grunfeld usually stops e4 entirely unless they play cxd5
@andrewwilson9123

@@nickandrews2255I’m assuming you mean they play 1. E4 and you play Nf6 running into 2. E5. At that point you are playing the Alekhine Defense, not the Kings Indian. A good rule of thumb is that if there’s a pawn on e4 to make sure you have played d6 before putting your knight on f6, that way e5 is not possible
@nickandrews2255

Its not exaclty How I would escribe what I say however you saying knight to d7 first as well as the pawn d6 to stop this. Here is what I was describing: (w) White, B (Black) wpe4 bpg6 wpd4 bbg7 wpf4 bpd6 so now if he makes whatever move then I go knight f6 he goes pawn e5 its cooked because he could still push my knight. You saying what you said had me think ok perhaps knight d7 for black so that we could double take with the knight however the queen and bishop are blocked here so its like how we work this? This feels right to me at the moment however its like vsing a 1600 bot do this to me not able to win is difficult because I see nobody else do this move here Cheers if you have a idea or input would be greatly appreciate it cheers @@andrewwilson9123

Glad to see another King's Indian video from you. I love your Caro-Kann and Jobava London videos since I play those openings as well.
Have your London course and your KID is my main setup. Thanks for the content 👍🏽

@@amogeanyanwu3126 A bit late but yes! I play it all the time with great success, going into haxo gambit lines and even the Nakhmanson gambit in online play. It is a very sound opening, and also has sharp and tatical positions to enjoy.
Another awesome video! You have such a gift of making these openings make sense! Thank you! PS yes! Would love a video on the Gruenfeld!
Great video. Started at 1500 two years ago. Learned your Caro Kann. Then started playing the Jobava. Now I’m at 2100. D4 defense has been lacking. Looking forward to more of these. Tremendous thank you for your teachings. It’s a blast playing at such a high level. I do prefer the kid over the grunfeld.

Im glad you released this video. Watching your jobaba london videos has helped me when so many more games as white but i was still kind of lost with black. Ive watched several other chess players but honestly your videos have helped win more games than any of the ither channels
Alex is SO the man ! A big thank you for the awesome video ( just what I secretely wanted ). By the way : regarding the London, I love how you sell the poison AND the antidote !

alex, you are by far my favorite chess youtuber. when i started watching you a few months ago i was around 400, since then i have climbed to 850 and still going up every week using the jobava and caro, and now learning the king's indian to play against d4. thank you!
Love the kings indian stuff. Would be interesting to see it played out against advanced players, so we can see the main line theory more in action.
I'm less than 3 minutes into this latest video, and I've already laughed out loud thrice and learned much. Your style is perfection personified, and you have a natural talent for teaching others. Thank you for existing, Alex.
sick vid, personally waiting for that jobava London course! 🔥
Please keep doing this kind of content because it gets more instructive with every video as the opponents get better.
Yes, would love to have a video on the Gruenfeld. Anything you want to make, just make it, I love all of it. You are not allowed to stop making chess videos for the next 546,342,099,481 millenia........ I would also LOVE more on the KID and Jobava.....
I really like how you suggest simplified lines for the Caro Kahn. If you can do that with the combinatorial explosion of the Grunfeld please do. With Caro you simplify most lines into Tartakower, exchange, or advance so i get a ton of looks at similar lines.
Thanks for the video. Learning kid and this really helped alot understanding the ideas of the position
Great vid! Very helpful
32:20 👀 do you have a program that won’t allow you to blunder? It looks like you tried to move the rook twice and it wouldn’t let you. Seems odd, please explain.
😂 “…the bishop is feeling like a sardine right now…” 😂. The jokes make this instructive content golden! Thanks for what you do for the game Alex.
Maybe not a whole video on it, but some videos on other variations might help to know what my opponent is doing. Thanks brother!
I was considering switching to 1...Nf6 and the Grunfeld seems interesting. A video on it would be awsome. Love the way you teach openings!
Keep going Mate! Love your content❤
26:58 My man over here just ROASTING this poor bishop had me cackling 🤣 Love your Kings Indian setup videos
Grunfeld has always felt like a much more attractive setup than traditional King's Indian to me. A video on it would be great.
"Double rook gambit!" Lol
I’m trying to learn the King’s Indian because of your videos (I used to play the Dutch and it was a lot of boring games), and I would love some grunfeld videos mixed in so I can learn how to transpose into that when advantageous.
Love the kings Indian videos thanks brother
More KI videos!!! I feel a speedrun coming over , then a course on your website!
Awesome vids man! In an earlier video you mentioned you studied for a few months on the Jobava, do you have any videos explaining your ways of studying? What you read, practice, watch or take notes?
i love the grunfeld, so yes please.
I underestimate kid against london in the past. at least at my elo it surprisingly solid. I just realized it recently. Thx as always alex!
6:37 almost gave my german grandpa PTSD
Would definitely be interested in a Grunfeld video, it's an opening I've been thinking about but have never played.
I like when you use other openings as a reference when you explained some move candidates. c5 like the Benoni was a candidate but you played a6 like the Najdorf.
I like the grunfeld, but usually I play nimzo Indian defense
Yes we want videos on Grunfeld Defense also.❤️❤️
I would love a Grunfeld video. Since you told me live on steam that my opening choice was bad (Dutch v. 1.d4) I have been looking for a new opening and have chosen the Grunfeld. It's a lot to learn, but I want to learn something, so it's ok for me. My opponents don't know anything about it also...
I experimented with the grunfeld and it was great fun, but I did think that maybe it was a little complex or a bit too risky for low rated players. I played it in tournament and gambiting pawns in the opening didn't really work and I just lost a lot. That being said I'm sure you would cover it really well so do whatever you want Alex!
What's up Alex! YES, very much yes on the Grunfield. Thank you! The best & only KZreadr I watch!
In the analysis of the second game, that b5 idea is very similar to the van der wiel attack against the caro kann
Yes, please go for the Grunfield. Also keep posting frequently i have to wait.
Please make a video about the grunfeld i would love it!
I would love a grunfeld course im already trying to learn but there isnt much out there
Great content! Yes for a Grunfeld speedrun
Would love to see Slav defense since I found it more similar to the London system and sometimes it can even transpose to the caro...TNX for the great job with the kid anyway
I was a KiD & pirc player before i discover your channel. Now i play the Caro, it's not to go back to KiD :p
Great job, keep with kings indian, my main
If you want to teach the Grunfeld, I'm down for it as well, but I prefer 90% KID 10% Grunfeld videos when it comes to dealing with queenside openings, or something along those lines. Your content is extraordinary! Thank you
Yes on the Grundfeld
Since you have played the KID for such a long time, I'd much rather see more KID content from you since you have a gift for breaking things down into easy to remember ideas/themes. I think that would be harder to do with the Grunfeld, and plus I think it's more likely that we would see a KID chessable course from you in the future, so I vote for more KID videos 100%!
Grunfeld - YES please!
I'd like to see something on the Grunfeld. I'm not sure where to put the light squared Bishop for Black.
This video is brilliant, playing down among the bottom feeders as I do I rarely come across people playing the "correct moves". Playing the Pirc it is always handy to borrow ideas from the KID. I'd like to see a video on the Grunfeld and then I'll probably decide it's too much theory and keep playing the Pirc !
Great, we need weapon against 1. d4. Thanks, Alex! 👍👍👍
Love the content Alex❤ Please could you also do some more scotch gambit, i feel like that'll be a good e4 opening with the Jobava being the d4 Thanks in advance
My Kings indian inital idea turns into a Czech Pirc defense lol
More King's Indian/Pirc/Modern please.
I'm a beginner and they say KID is not great for beginners but always find it a great setup.
I wanna see a video on the grunfeld. I fell in love with the opening after seeing Maxime Vachier Lagrave playing it, but I feel lost when I play it. So, I would really appreciate if you make a video with the most common lines and ideas of the grunfeld for a player that has somewhere around 1700-1900.

Nicely done Mister IM ;)
Not the double rook gambit 😂😂
Will there be a kings Indian Chessable course?
Grunfeld - yes please

I’d love to see a “Grünfeld for Beginners” video! I always avoid it as it seems like too much theory so I stick to KID against d4. (I’m ~1200 rating BTW)

Na5 is played there only when it's actually threatening to win the c4-pawn. Placing your knights on the edge like that is super dangerous otherwise. It's a concrete line, gotta watch out for those little details (but it kinda makes sense).
Thanks a lot for KID guides!
the man, the myth and the legend himself folks!
Just had first chance to play that KID Qe8 idea. Won in 19 moves with a 96.2% accuracy score. Now I'm worried I will get hit for cheating ... although on the move I played it I discovered the engine (slightly) preferred e5/Re8 (or even Bb7 - I wouldn't normally be any where near a Q side fianchetto in most KID, but W had delayed Bd3) to Qe8 and I needed a waiting move (W seemed to have forgotten he was playing London and played Nc3 and then Nb1 to allow c3 ???) .
Why did KZread stop recommending your channel to my feed 😢
