I think they missed the part of the sentiment i.e the video recording. Yes, the medium was a little lame but girls do this all the time just in different ways. Eg. how many times has a girl kept a note written to them by some guy (who was just looking for something quick and casual) and they guy took a few secs to write on some random regular scrap of paper only to have them stash it in some box of memories as teenagers/young adults?
