A Metropolitan Bo-Bo with added pantographs is such a cool idea. In Japan some retired Tokyo Metro third rail units were fitted with pantographs and sold to rural railways, similar to what happened to King Orry here. :)

That’s so interesting - I had no idea! Japanese railways are so cool. My rationale for King Orry was that, since Metropolitan-Vickers was located at Barrow-in-Furness, they built an experimental diesel with pantographs to test viability for the West Coast Main Line. When it didn’t quite live up to expectations, it was sold to the Fat Controller. It’s nice to know there are real-life examples of this!

Another fantastic story Mike. The story featuring the peel Goddard engines keep getting better and better. Also I liked how you named one of the engines after King Orry's bridge. Of course being named after something or someone is ego is bigger than his pantographs on his head. Overall I can't wait to see what happens to him next keep up the good work man!

if I had a nickel for every time Mike would write about two characters and then bring in a third, more snootier character, to help with the traffic. I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it has happened twice. Jokes aside this is another lovely addition to your ‘Electrical Engine Extravaganza Saga’ King Godred is quite a handful. Although, he got off lightly in this situation. In my opinion, with all the chaos he had caused, on what his first day? I thought for sure the fat controller was going to pull a “Lord Harry” situation and as punishment King Orry would be reffed to as E3 until he redeemed himself or gets sent away in disgrace. But, I guess will have to wait and see what the kings next move will be in this game of chess he seems to be playing. Once again, a lovely addition to your collection looking forward to what you upload next. Also I hope you upload more of these audios they are such a joy to listen to, Even if it’s an old audio story you’ve done they are still a delight. Take care.

We've known steam engines to get fired up from something, but never thought an electric engine would follow in their path! Great story, and I love the introduction of King Orry. He has a sparkling personality, if you get what I mean >wO. Can't wait to see what other mischief the electric engines find themselves in, and well done! (P.S. The reference to the previous story is absolutely golden :D)

I think it could be cool for King Orry to meet BoCo. Their classes were build by the same company, both were reffered to as Metro-Vicks and both were working in Barrow-in-Furness. I smell a rivalry story between an self-entilted experimental one-off rebuiled electrical engine and more respectful, kind diesel. I mean, think about it.

This was really not what I was expecting when you mentioned Eleanor and Edith will need help at some point lol. I wonder whats gonna happen with those BR Class 86s and EMUs Chris mentioned (assuming they are canon). Seeing as they run on a different sort of power, DOES THAT MEAN THE 3 ARE GONNA BE REPLACED??? YOU GOT CURIOUS NOW, YOU GOT ME CURIOUS

RBTL has some stuff that is cool to consider canon, but it also has some questionable things, lol. The Class 86s can run with overhead wires, but I have decided on one more engine I want to add that is a different class! They will show up much later though.

I'm curious as to what timeframe these stories take place. I know that 'Edith & The Prince' coincides with 'Paint Pots and Queens', and this story appears to take place soon after, but how far down Sodor's timeline do you plan to take these stories? Most notably, I'm curious to see where the loyalties of the electric engines lie when diesels arrive on Sodor? Incidentally, since Killdane is part of the Peel Godred branch, might that not be an opportunity to introduce Arry & Bert along with the Ironworks?
