I forgot Grant Imahara was on an episode of Man At Arms. Rest In Peace good sir
I like the people that comment on this and think they know more about swords than a blacksmith that's been smithing for 30 years

***** obviously he is not a certified blacksmith, he is fooling around the powerhammer and anvil like he forges once a month for a couple of hours. And you can see he is more the cut and weld guy on his other videos.

Hans Kruger actually he's master blacksmith

Hans Kruger nears as i can tell he apprenticed and after a few hours of research the only certification i have found, that isn't even required here in the U.S. (i limited my search to that since he lives in SoCal) is a Farrier from AFA (American Farriers Association). I could be wrong tho. Thats all i've found, nothing attached to his name but like i said, i haven't found anything saying you need to certified. Clearly he knows what he is doing and not just "fooling around on the power hammer and anvil". he doesn't just forge once a month too. this is his job. he gets commissions all the time.

It's awe-some , I love it that you test your creations at the end of each video, it makes the weapon feel even more real to us watching.

i love man at arms, but even if im sure that they're deady weapons, it would be better if you tested them on more solid objects like um more fruits, steaks, plastic or whatever, breaking glass isnt so amazing to watch. and I cant understand the power of the weapon since i can also break glass with my hand

The kopis they made here looks like it weighs a good 8 pounds. Even if it wasn't as sharp as Tony showed by shaving off his arm hairs, it has enough weight (especially on the top like kopises were designed to have) to swing through someone's head.

@mikealgiers7852

MrPanos2000 Then what is it? It's not a claymore. It's not a katana. It's more than just a short sword. It's recurved like all other kopises and looks to be as long as a spatha. It loosely fits the definition of a kopis which is good enough for me.

Daniel Shephaard I'd love to see both Frostmourne and Gorehowl made! I mean Frostmourne is basically a work of art with all the details put into it, and it's a big sword (which is always fun). Gorehowl is less complex in terms of details, but has a bunch of nasty spikes on it and many different textures, and seeing how to achieve that would be great too. The Twin Blades of Azinroth though (aka. Illidan's blades) are crazy big things to make. I mean they're basically two shields with two two-handed swords attached to each of them. Crazy stuff, but it would be really interesting to see if they can be crafted as usable weapons - without scaling them down. I mean just look at the size of those things: img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070703223451/wowwiki/images/e/eb/Blades_Of_Azzinoth.jpg

darksskull It's a common way to demonstrate the blade is both steel and hardened and not just a milled out steel (or even aluminum) blank, which is what most cheap commercial replicas are. A sword with a forged and hardened edge is barely going to dull from breaking glass. In contrast, the edge of an untreated, milled sword will be nicked pretty badly.
