Without a doubt the #1 best fight scene in King Kong 2005 considering that it shows Kong fighting not one but three V-Rexes. Add to the fact that he does his best to protect Ann from getting eaten by them makes this scene even more iconic and unforgettable.

I love how almost ever shot of Kong is shown from below to show how marvelous and powerful kong is. I think the reason why in the planes scenes the cameras were shot above was to show that kong was in trouble and being too outmatched by the planes. Great technique. This is one of those movies where the action is easy to read

Honestly, this scene holds up so well after all these years. Not just the visuals, but the way the fight went. The T-rexes play around each other, Kong is circling around often to avoid bites, protect her, and all the while using every limb at his disposal. Makes Kong in the monsterverse look slow by comparison. Also, jesus him picking up the T-rex with one arm is nuts lol.

That moment when Ann fully realizes that Kong is all in and ready to fight to the death to protect her, and so she backs up into his protective cover when him and the last remaining T-Rex have their staredown - plus the way Kong’s gaze softens when he quickly looks down at her like “I got’choo, boo - I got’choo”, but it hardens right back up when he looks up at the T-Rex again - just such awesome nuances like those make this one of my all-time fave movie scenes - and all-time favorite movies.

Andy Serkis killed it as Kong in this movie. Excellent mocap work

One thing I adore about this is the way the V-rexs jaws sound after chomping, it's super similar to how alligators sound, showing how strong their bite was, it's such a small thing that didn't have to be added, but that's why I love this movie, the attention to detail

This is genuinely the single greatest creature fight scene in all of cinematic history!

I completely believe that if you supersized this Kong up to his size in the monsterverse he could beat Godzilla. This King Kong did not fuck around.

Went and saw in the Theatre, One of the Greatest Movies.. The CGI & Soundtrack was phenomenal.. The writing was phenomenal.. I loved Mr. Haze and Jimmy's moments and King Kong was on another level. God Tier.

I don't care that this Kong isn't as big as godzilla, he's still a badass. Edit: It seems like a lot of people leaving comments don't even know what movie this is. This clip is from Peter Jacksons 2005 King Kong movie. It's not tied into the monsterverse and has nothing to do with the upcoming Kong vs Godzilla. You wouldn't know without looking at behind the scenes stuff, but all three of these V-rexes have distinct differences. The first one killed with the boulder was a juvenile, the one who got it's head smashed against the canyon walls was a matriarch, and the final one was a bull in its prime.

Anyone else getting this recommended to them because they watched Godzilla vs Kong trailer😂?

The CGI does look amazing, but the points where the actors interact with the cgi are a little wonky at times. At parts where kong is holding her closer to himself you can easily see that it's edited.

Because they actually studied the movement of animals. Serkis would go to the London zoo every day with Jackson tagging along from time to time to research how they’d move. *HELL* Serkis would go to the Congo to see gorillas in person.

I did not recall King Kong biting off the V-Rex's tongue. That is quite the detail to add in. Very incredible CGI done for this movie.

The only other theatre-going experience I’ve ever had on par with this is Fellowship of the Ring. Thanks, PJ.

Imagine if laws of physics were real in this movie. Poor woman.

I find it crazy how Optimus Prime is a gorilla in beast wars, and this fight reminds me of that forest battle where Optimus fought three decepticons by himself to protect a Sam. Just like how Kong is fighting three dinosaurs to protect Ann. Both in natural settings.

@PhillDrakeEntertainment Kong sitting on the T-Rex was the ultimate sign of dominance. Kong not only humiliated the T-Rex but was putting immense strain on its back as well.

Still don't get how people let this great movie flop this is one of the best adventure movies I ever watched people said it's long but I wouldn't care if it was little bit more longer because I want to see more of skull island. And it is one of the best CGI in the movie industry and this movie came in 2005 almost 20 year old can't believe it's been so long

Kong Skull Island doesnt hold a candle to this film. PJ truly made a marvelous movie and it didnt need overly goofy jokes that would completely break any form of tension

Gotta hand it to the V. Rexes! They were incredibly determined to eat this one woman XD

I remember seeing thia in theaters. One of the most badass fights in cinema. My dad didnt notice when Kong ripped out the V rex tongue at first. I had to show him when it came out on dvd 😂.
