I'm sure it's not more ridiculous than somebody paying 5 million for a Monet when they could cover the same space on their wall with a $150 print of something. that is because if the moving rims could be connected to the odometer then that would rack up the miles even when in park. and then if you were to actually move forward on drive , the diameter of the wheels would save on fuel because the car can travel longer distances on the same revolution, therefore getting better gas milage because of the giant wheels. two different subjects in one relevant algorithm. we can now insert a drag factor into the formula, lessening the fuel economy a notch or two accounting for atmospheric disruption and displacement.
