Yeyyyy, finally uploaded again, eh? This time I sang “Sakayume” by King Gnu!
Honestly, I’m just happy to finally get this done cuz this took way too long. It was an on and off process of “should I continue with this song or not” cuz I wasn’t happy with much of how it was turning out throughout the whole process. But I guess in the end, here we are! It’s definitely far from perfect or even decent for that matter, but I guess that just leaves a lot of space for improvement!

This has to be one of the best j-music translations out there. If they release the instrumental of the original song I'd like to hear these lyrics over it.

i usually don't listen to japanese song being covered in english cause they would change the meaning so much to fit the rhythm but i really love listeing to yours cause you still deliver the meaning behind the song so for that thank you so much 😭

I now own one of the Blu-ray discs of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, directly from Japan. It does have English subtitles and plays just fine in North America. I never got a chance to see the movie in theatres, but I figure I get it on Blu-ray since I also own volumes 0 - 17 of the manga. The movie has some great acting in it - and was very emotional for me.
I listen to this version to feel that certain amount of heartbreak

Late reply, but thank you! 🌷 I'm glad I ended up finishing this one too, and looking back, it probably wasn't as bad as I thought it was in the moment! x'D Also, If you like this song by King Gnu, I'd recommend listening to Chameleon by them as well, it's probably my favourite song from them!

Yes! You're right! This cover is amazing! :DD And I listened to Chameleon a couple times and the ending is so unexpected! I really like it tho. I feel like it really goes well with the lyrics :OO. I'll have to look more into it, cause I heard the song is about expressing feelings but I interpreted it as seeing someone change dramatically over a long period of time, to the point of becoming a stranger but idk! Waa thanks so much for suggestion! >■

You not only sings incredibly but your lyrical translation skill is also on another level! As a liberal arts major, I really appreciate the depth and well-rounded use of words you try to transcribe from the original version. Long 3 weeks. Glad to see you back again! I haven’t watched the Jujutsu Kaisen movie yet, because it wasn’t available in my area. But the moment I can, like most anime nowadays, when I hear this song I’ll be thinking of yours. Just like Belle recently. I watched both japanese and english versions, and when I heard the english one i found myself singing your lyrics from “U” rather than the movies 😅 Anyways, thank you for blessing my ears again with another amazing cover!

I literally searched for an English cover and this is absolutely amazing. King gnu put so much meaning in few words that when translated the words get a bit cramped. However, you managed to get around and adapted accordingly with style. Stellar performance!
