There were no Kerala in that period. Malayalam language is a new language and only 600 years old. In those days all spoke Tamil. PANDIAN rulers were more close to Srilankan kings than Cheras.

@@rajasegarambala9563 There is a clear difference between kerala and TN cusine ,culture,languages are different there were not kerala but kingdom called chera was there..they had different identity..what i mean is.. we didn't have issues with chera kingdom like with cholas..cholas were the major threat to anuradhapura kingdom..we can still see this attitude majority of people from that particular area

@@maheswaranmethulan4375 history says different story and it's was not sinhalese attack first who killed 13 officers in north..that was the incident ignited black july that was sad incident..but after there were many LTTE bomb attacks against sinhalese but sinhalese never Tried to get return on ordinary tamils.. in fact tamils population in south increased in 90s,20s why? Because they were safe in south than north we sinhalese are buddhist we don't enjoy violence....your community arrogance is the main reason for everything i see always tamils boast about their culture, language saying we are oldest ,our language is oldest we are superior likewise...teach them to respect other culture..we are not racist people like TN Tamils..even indians will agree with me on this..

There is a holein this prof's story. I ask him to go to a place called Kammala (past maoya bridge at kochchi kade) on road to Puttlam. There is a large community there who did not speek Sinhala. They were the wahallu brought to SL by our invading king. I lived close to that area some 70 yrs ago. They seemed to have a grudge against Sinhalese. I also ask prof to be careful when interpreting history without taking ground reality. The name Kochchikade is connected with Kochin as the people there are from Kochin. Another thing is why South India took our people for irrigation technology at that time?. And are their present generations from remnanentof our fellows giving a bòost to their high tech industry today?.

I was born & bought up some kilometers north to Kammala, in Madampe. We had similar communities there too. They were mainly engaged in toddy tapping. They spoke both Tamil & Sinhala but they were neither Tamils nor Singhalese. Now they are completely absorbed in to the mainstream now & difficult to spot their cultural identity. Most probably people of this particular community migrated to Sri Lanka later during Portuguese or Dutch period. Dutch were know to bring people from various parts of India to work in different industries including tobacco farming & toddy tapping. If they migrated to Sri Lanka so long ago, I do not expect them to preserve their ethnic identity thus far & should have absorbed in to mainstream long ago. Ethnic identity of the spot migration (small groups) would not survive more than couple of centuries unless the migration population numbers are massive & concentrated in an exclusive area such as Jaffna Tamils.

I have read a book by the name Mota Siva. According to the book Mota Siva is a descendent of a North Indian king and Greek princess. So, there is a connection between Sinhala kings and European Aryans.
