Amazing bass line.... If only it wasn't totally muted in the actual song

It’s not muted, it actually peaks and rings like crazy over the top of all the instruments at some parts because of poor EQing at that time period
if a girl stared at me the way the guy does i would be so happy

A girl I knew back in 2002 once woke me up with Starless.... 8 months later she was my wife.
Didn’t know Freddy Mercury was this good on bass
It's strangely simple when you think about it, it's just the timing that's odd.

mmmmmmm idk the mirror section
Started off like "oh yeah totally doable" then about 1/3rd of the way in I was like "oh hell naw"
you are literally the bass transcription. Absolutely amazing, congratulations, Greg Lake.
Greg Lake's Best Work...
This is actually alot harder to learn than it looks.Hours of work if not days/weeks. And I guess playing it from top to bottom is also challenging as fuck. The reason he's staring at the screen may be he's reading notes I assume? So many variations, I would definitely use some reminders atleast Just incredible job! Bravo my friend

I believe he's checking the evolution of the drum track, it's impossible to anticipate all that automatically I assume. Bassists and drummers always look at each other

@@Kosthoms hah yeah but what I meant is like learning any walking bass from jazz or a rock part that is semi improvised... to learn it note by note is more challenging than learning a non improvised part
wow. That song has blown me away since I first heard it. One of my fave albums. Greg Lake has always inspired me as a bass player. I never learned the line all the way through because I was never in a band that could play this.....sigh. This is the kind of stuff which inspired me to play bass....Greg Lake, Jack Bruce, Chris Squire, Jaco Pastorius......then James Jameson, Carol Kaye, Geddy Lee, Tony Levin...the list goes on...but always Greg Lake...he was what, 20 when he recorded this?

Exceptionelle! C'est super! I was spellbound to watch you play this awesome bassline created by Greg Lake (R.I.P)!
Such a great cover. Thank you! Although, no offense, I scrolled your head out of the shot.
Unbelievable! Just amazing, Man! LUV IT! I have enjoyed listening to King Crimson's debut LP since 1969, but you have nailed the bassline here in your super video!
Bravo, mate. What a cover!
Bravo Antoine pour cette superbe reprise à la basse !
Fantastico! Bravissimo!!!
this is fantastic.🤘🤘🤘
Brilliant, such a big help, it would take me years to work this out myself.
Fantastic!
you even got it sounding like the jazz bas it was recoded with. stellar,
love that raw fat blunt p bass sound with mono pick ups groove on my man,
That is some hard to get, I would be happy with close and you are dead on. Kudos man! Thank you as well have to learn it for a gig and you saved me countless hours of frustration. Hell I was going to beg my bandmates no to do the snare bit near the end but now I may actually demand we not do it har har.
Flawless. Teach me master!
I left at 1:41
All the kudos bars to you friend! I am trying to attempt this and its haf!

In amongst all the garbage on yt you occasionally stumble across the real thing.. Or at least as real as I'm ever gonna get. This is a good example.
Bravo!

Skipping the outro, that was a hilarious xD
the part at 4:12 and on always screws me up. Any tips on counting out the rhythm? You fucking nailed this man, and I'm glad to see we agree on the positioning on the song.
Great performance, but gotta its so much funner with finger picking at least for me!
