Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Caravan and Motorhome Club invited me to take you on a tour of this incredible one-off miniature caravan, built in 1955 by Rollalong Caravans and presented to Prince Charles and Princess Anne as a gift from the Caravan Club.

Wow I am amazed to see this caravan again. I started my Electrical Apprenticeship at Rollalong in 1982. This had been returned to Rollalong to be restored & I first saw it in the carpentry/furniture department where the chippies were finishing off the restoration. It looks now exactly as I remember it then. By 1982 Rollalong had stopped making Caravans & branched off into portable accommodation, but some of the guys I was working with had worked for Rollalong for most of their lives. Rollalong was started by a local farmer & was based in Ringwood for many years until moving to bigger premises at Three Legged Cross. A lot of the guys working there were very proud to have worked on this caravan.

Wow thanks for sharing your story Mike! The caravan is now on display at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. Angela is the lady who runs the Caravan and Motorhome Club collection there, and I’m sure she’d love to hear from you about your history with Rollalong. Well done chaps….👏
I am a 5'3" retired lady. This size holiday trailer -or slightly taller, would be lovely for someone like me. I wish more of these would be made affordably for the average person.
The royals didn't deserve this. Put it in a museum for us to enjoy.
Thanks Cameron. As ever perfect, professional, no silliness : daft delivery. I would have loved one of those as a child....actually.....I wouldn't mind having one now !
I would LOVE to see Prince William's children exploring this charming little caravan! Imagine them having a picnic with Mum, Dad, Grandfather, and their dear Aunt present with the little ones romping around in it.
That is so cute! I always have loved campers and I wanted a playhouse as a little girl. This is an adorable idea for a child.
In the context of mid 1950s austerity, how many children would have LOVED the opportunity to even experience this little gem. It should have been presented to a Children's Charity ... kids who needed something like this, in stark comparison to over priivileged children who needed NOTHING!.
The Caravan is so cute. I grow up in Kingston-upon-Hull and every 2nd week in October the annual fair arrives in Hull. In the 1960's a children's roundabout had a little caravan on it and I always wanted to sit in the caravan as a child. Not on the grand scale as the royal caravan though.
That was so cute! And what a coup to be invited down to review it. No better man for the job though, that was brilliant thanks Cameron.
Thank-you, Cameron. That is a fascinating piece of history there. Well done indeed.
This would have been so much fun as a kid!!
Absolutely adorable❤... so cute, oh, and your lallies out again 😮❤x
That would be the perfect size for towing behind my Triumph Rocket Three.
Cute little van. I'm so short I could probably live in it :)

Am glad, at last it is somewhere that it can be kept and looked after, as it should be. It is as old as me. LOL
Cute little nugget.🙃
Cameron sitting in a miniature caravan. The content we all needed but never knew till now.
Delightful! Thank you so very much. Doesn't this look/feel like a tiny home to you? It does to me -- much of it's charm. Bravo, lads!
Adorable ❤
What a great story and thoroughly informative and entertaining video. A visit to the museum is a must

I agree 👍
That is by far the coolest camper ever!!!
Our King should ask for it back, he can give it to Andrew as his new home.

You beat me to it ! I'm sure Fergie could squeeze in to and keep a watchful eye on PA .
Very interesting! What comes through in this video though sadly to me is that, like most toys, it was forgotten -- not once, but twice!
I like those, I tried to buy one from a neighbor. He didn't want to part with it because it belong to his Father. But three week later Hurricane Hugo blew it away and it was never found.
How interesting.. There was a company called Rolon who manufactured caravans in Dublin, Ireland in the 1960's. I have such happy memories of holidays in it until we finally sold our (Rolon) caravan in 1993 after 28 years of ownership
It’s a real shame it fell in to (relative) disrepair so regularly. Glad it’s finally made it “home” to be looked after properly.

I feel the same . my thoughts go to the men who built it and made it so special for the Royal children for it sadly to end up rotting away in a barn.

It is a shame, but from what I understand, it was far from deliberate. When it was restored the first time, it was a fairly light restoration to tidy it up, but then the barn it was placed in had leaked, following that restoration. As is the norm with vast archives such as the Royal Collection, it must be impossible to check on absolutely everything regularly. Can you imagine how many gifts the Royal family receive? It’ll all be catalogued but put into storage. It’s sad that it fell into disrepair, but I can understand why. At least it’s now got a great permanent home and we all get to enjoy it!

My parents would've never seen me again...I would've never left this lol
It's like a scene from Gulliver's Travels! 😂🤣
So cute

Thanks Douglas, there’s plenty of old content to explore and plenty of new content coming soon! Got some more work with the Caravan and Motorhome Club coming, and a new restoration series.
Awesome
I love the way the Brits add 3 syllables and half a dozen letters to the word aluminum 😅. This little trailer is absolutely gorgeous! But considering the way the royal family has not taken care of it in the past, please make sure it never falls back into their hands.
That is fantastic!
This is adorable 🥰
WOW!
Dammmmm, that is cool.....
Magnifico video.
Bit of surprise content, great video. I must have seen this at Beaulieu but just dismissed it which is sad on my part. You have a real knack for these documentary, history type videos.

Thank Alan, it is a bit unusual, even for my channel 🤪 It’s an interesting piece of history nonetheless, and I’m grateful that the CAMC reached out to me to film it 🥰
So cute, I love it😅
Great video! Thank you! I'm so happy to have been able to see this! It's very interesting to me as I live in an RV, my tiny home of choice. 💗
Hubnut refereed me, cool caravan I subscribed to check out all your other video reviews & of course all your new ones as well..
We played refrigerator box.
It just cried out to have a Mattel Easybake Ove installed. 😉
Sehr schön, liebe Grüße aus Hamburg.
Prince Andrew would love to get one of those for his girlfriends.
This is so cute. I think Prince Louis would love this. Too bad he can't use it.
とてもオシャレ!センス良い!
I Love This And Im Not A Camper person ❤
It's so cute. I wonder if they sacrificed any children in there.
So cute I want one
Not an adult trailer two children could sleep in this trailer. I would build one larger but keep the same theme. It is a cute trailer. 73
Can you imagine someone giving you gift like this. They keep coming back to make sure you have it, they want to borrow it, they want to make it nice again so you don’t toss it out, …
Wow! Thank you for this thing nobody ever asked for it ever wanted! We’ll leave it in a barn where it can deteriorate! And then you went and restored it… Okay.
Hi Cam, brilliant feature. I'm building a pod that size. Hope you are doing well. Nik

Hey Nik, how are you going to downsize from the RV to a pod?! 🤪 All good here thanks, hope you’re well too.
No sound had to put on the CC close captions.
If you might have a extra one around a family in need could really use one...😢😢
If you are a dwarf this one should be perfect.
It just shows how ungrateful the royals are not to have this cared for and preserved. Rather than look after it, it had to be restored not once but twice, once after being left in a barn to rot! What a complete insult to the craftsman who made this in such good heart. Disgusting when you think of the facilities they have at hand to get these things cared for. So happy this little gem has a permanent, caring home where people who really care can enjoy it.
My family owns an original a boler trailer
Look at this yob.. couldn't he have worn a suit and tie for the royal caravan story!!.😂😂♥️🇬🇧
Amazingly it was discovered this little camper was heavily bugged with electronic recording / surveillance technology that the enemy hoped would uncover royal secrets.
Who would have known? What else is hidden away?
cute but I would have to be able to stand up this is a child size camper lol
Something tells me the two kids couldnt have given a crap about it... Which is probably why it's so well preserved and unused.

Würde mir reichen. Fehlt nur der Tisch
I'm a little woman. That would be perfect for me!
You look like a giant in it
Wow! I hope I can perform enough ceremonial nothingness one day to earn my kids one of these
They just didn't seem to want to keep it.
Perhaps München, not meownik 😂
I wonder why they didn't make a plastic copy of the china set.
"Where it was forgotten about again." What is the deal? If it's such a bother then find another, lower aristocrat that wants to be the protector of the caravan club. Sure it's not the *COOLEST* thing in the world but hello it's not fun that they keep throwing it away.
I wonder if kathern kids have seen it you now george
If it for the kids I get it great gift but the idea of offering the queen a tiny little thing like.
Gifted to them twice and they still let it go bad again sad
Let me think , um er yes I think I would prefer to live in Buckingham palace ,close call though.
We’re they never taught to take care of their things? Shameful treatment of a gift!
It was not preserved though, it was a wreck it had to be restored, obviously they did not care one bit.
What about Charles grandchildren enjoying it? Superb idea, no? Dreams of children, adult things their size!
It's almost as small as your shorts.
ignurt
They should give it to William and Kate's kids to use! It's awesome, George, Charlotte, and William. :-)
This proves that royalty does not appreciate anything. We need to stop giving royalty anything. They dont deserve it.
Never get his ears in.
Careless of the Royals given there were more children, and then Annes own children and neices and nephews.
8 minutes & 36 seconds to do a walkthrough of a shoe box
It's kind of pathetic.
