1. Ma ma me: Camilla (7 at the time of this writing) drew a picture for me of notes minus any staff. I took the basic rhythms she drew and wrote this opening piece. Definition of “Ma ma me? She made it up. You’d have to ask her.
2.Twilight Waltz: for Camilla. Among about 100 other things, she wants to be a ballerina. This is her dancing gracefully around our living room.
3.Search and Conquer!: for Martin Richard (3 at this writing). He wakes up slowly then hits the floor running, getting into every door, cabinet, and bookcase in the known universe. At times he slows down, but then bravely continues his quest. At the end he slows down for a nap - yet, does he?
4.Puppy in the West: Cami came up with this title and commissioned me to write a piano piece to it. Based on “ Git along, Little Dogies” with a jazzy twist.
In reality the “dogie” in the original is an orphaned or runt calf. However for my purposes here, the Dogie is a cute, jazzy little K-9.
5. ‘round n’ ’round: for both Cami and Marty. Canonic in character, they imitate each other as they play together.
KinderSuite runs approx.. 15 minutes. Each movement may be played out of context of the others as solos.
