Kimiyoshi Suzuki

Kimiyosi Suzuki was born on 1st January 1934. Back then in Japan every child was expected to do some type
of martial art because those who didn’t were considered weak or ill. First, he started doing judo with his older brother, then he started learning Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū Kenjutsu from Sensei Kintaro Yokokawa, and he is still doing and teaching this art in which he has
achieved the highest level available: menkyo kaiden.
His grandfather, Shigekatsu Makita was also a grand master of this style, which he taught in his club called Jikishinkan until his death in 1914.
After the war all martial arts were banned for a while,
so he had to give his training up temporarily, but later he could continue training again.
As a secondary school student, he studied karate too,
and during his university years he joined the university Goju-ryu Karate club, where sometimes Sensei Gōgen Yamaguchi was also present, and attended training sessions in his club too. Later he achieved 6 th dan in this style.

Oss!🙏
