Kimbo Camping | Yosemite to Sequoia National Park

Ойын-сауық

Yosemite is a great place to visit... just not on a peak weekend when the weather is beautiful. Next time we will stray away from this path 😆

Reservations at Cedar Grove Kings Canyon are a few years old now and not easy to get for last minute trip,, used to be 1st come. Stay on hwy 180 Kings Canyon Campground. Private campground!! $30 for RV with water and sewer! Can do hikes etc in Cedar Grove or drive back up to Grant Grove then over to Sequoia🌲

You don’t need to take Air Conditioner out to put microwave in its place. Just put a super small under 1000W microwave right over top of AC unit in that little cubby hole storage space. Would be perfect fit! AC is an absolute must on those 90+ degree days/nights lol.

We went during the week in late Sept. and it wasn't too busy, but like you that was back when there were restrictions. Also in Sept. the waterfalls are dry. Riding bikes around the valley with my kids was a top 5 experience of my life and the whole family's favorite part of the whole 2 weeks we spent in California.

I live in Fresno, right on the border of Fresno/Clovis (sister cities) There are some very nice parts of town and some just down right shitty parts of town as well. Been to Yosemite prob 40-50 times and my favorite spot is probably Chilnualna Falls in southern Yosemite near Wawona. Amazing hike and waterfalls with very few people. Kings Canyon (down in the canyon) is also another amazing place to camp with not nearly the crowds as Yosemite gets but it’s absolutely gorgeous down there. So easy to find spots where nobody else is along the Kings River and have it all to yourself. Actually headed there with my family tomorrow.

Need to stop watching yours and LLOD’s channel. I keep buying shit based on your reviews! Vertx, Olight, LLOD holster, now a Tacoma. No regrets with anything I’ve purchased because of your videos but every time I watch one of yours or Mike’s videos, I see something I “need”. All else aside, I find cool stuff in your videos and more practical stuff on LLOD. It’s a good balance. Great video as always, man.

Love seeing you pass through California. Yeah Yosemite is always full of people but sequoia is much better in my opinion. If you get the chance, you should try to hike morro rock in sequoia and the meadows there or the big trees trails that branch off to Congress trail. Those are personally my favorite on the south edge

What kind of MPGs you seeing with your setup? Get about 12-14 with my northern lite/ram 3500 Cummins setup. Not great, but I do weigh 13,000 lbs and have the aerodynamics of a 12x8x20 flying brick…so I guess that’s not too bad. Also, I’m sure you’re aware but some may not be: if you’re going to dump your grey water in the forests, be aware that that may attract unwanted guests. Especially up here in Montana, Idaho, and farther north. 🐻

Definitely right about vans. Not off road worthy! Noisy rattle traps! no matter the price point. Four wheel sprinters are just adequate on paved snow covered roads! trucks rock. Sprinters are proof you can sell ice to eskimos! They will all be worth pennies on dollar by end of 2022! Lol!

I live in Mariposa which is just down Hwy 140 from Yosemite. I saw this rig rolling around. I think the rig is overkill for such an accessible park as Yosemite, but for hard to reach places I could see a Kimbo being a great rig to survive and thrive.

Agree..people suck. I was actually thinking the place was empty. I was there about 7 years ago and it was miserable. September, the falls were dry, the grass was knee high and as dead as Iv ever seen grass. People driving in circles looking to park. It took 30 minutes to get to and use that passport stamp. Zero space. 😖 I should have went 30 ago...
