Kim Jung Gi Sketchbook Tour 2 - You Know You’re Going to Watch it

Thank you to Lazy Nezumi for sponsoring this video! Head to lazynezumi.com/proko to save $10 on a license. Promo expires Feb 29, 2020.
More Kim Jung Gi! I got behind the scenes access to film a sketchbook tour during a workshop in LA! He took out his latest 2 sketchbooks from his backpack to show us what he’s been working on while telling stories behind the drawings. This video is infused with some of Kim’s “naughty energy” so keep that in mind if you have sensitive eyeballs.
Want more Gi in your life? Check out the other videos we’ve done with him below.

Not only is Kim Jung Gi Inspiring in his work, but also how he thinks. He draws whatever he wants, whenever he wants, he doesn't care what you think. He just draws, because he loves drawing. Now that so many are becoming digital artist we value are ability in how many likes or followers we have. I've slowly managed to drift away from that mindset and it feel so much better about myself when I'm simply drawing for myself, and no one else.

You shouldn't be crushed, really. Jung Gi has over 20 years of professional experience behind his belt, having spent countless hours on his mastery, practicing it every day. It doesn't take talent alone to reach this kind of finesse. So, unless you've wasted your life doing absolutely nothing, there should be no regret, you can't simply compare yourself to someone who spent this much time on a particular skill; you've still got a road ahead of you :)

Really inspiring to see his sketchbook. I don't know why people think that he has some kind of unhuman powers being able to draw whatever he wants without ref, but I think this is possible for everyone, it's just a lot of hard work and observation in real life. You gotta observe in your daily life things and try to memorize them. The more you do this, the better you'll get. It's practice.

Also while watching parasite I literally was thinking about how cool it would be if Kim did some Drawings from it, the movie has some fantastic editing and beautifully shot scenes
