I was an art student who barely followed the news. and even i knew this. I mean... the UN said they found no weapons of mass destruction. it wasn't hard to find that. the MSM pretended like that fact wasn't established when it was clear as day. hence MSM is largely to blame and must never be trusted again.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. At least we have multiple outlets to contrast and compare. JP was brilliant and i read most of his books but he didn't get everything right. Towards the end he was referencing Russian media to support some his claims regarding the invasion of Ukraine. I appreciate he saw the worse of US foreign policy eg Vietnam and Cambodia and I think this skewed his reporting at times.

Bless my dear friend and close neighbour, John Pilger, a genuinely kind and humble human being who always fought for truth and the common "man". We, the people of the whole world, have lost a great hero and champion who was my personal friend for many years who fought for me. Martha Gellhorn would have continued to be proud of him had she not left us. At least John missed the coming apocalypse ! We will all cherish his memory forever and wherever good sapiens exist.

@habsom1406 Yes, very much so. John was blessed also with a loving family and a wonderful partner who cared for him. Love is the most important thing. As John knew only too well, the biggest and most important heroes are the ones we never hear about, the ordinary nobodys who are truly kind and have no ego or money issues, who are financially unremarkable but who know what life is all about and have deep respect and sensitivity. John was like that in his everyday life. His kindness and love for others was returned in beautiful ways and truth. He was deeply loved and he did his best to return that love. His enemies only increased the respect that we all had for him. We lost à true human being! He left us a legacy that will live for as long as good humans are around. We are blessed to have known people who love deeply and care deeply and read deeply. The world badly needs help.

@michellenorris8471 Thank you for your appreciation. In my experience, the true real heroes are the ones we never hear about - the ones we wouldn't look twice at - the ones who avoid the lime light - the ones who have less ego - the ones who have no money - the ones with few possessions - the poor, who know what real kindness is, and who are altruistic who give unconditional love. Those are the sapiens who I want to know and be with and share with and help each other. No government no politician has the mental strength or structure to do any of that. None!

The champion of slow news. The news no one wants to hear, has long since tired of and only cares about while it impacts on them. The champion of true justice and holding all to account. A kiwi responder here..... I remember first seeing this interview when it was aired and I wasn't sure what to make of it then, only that the temperature of interview was a little high. Kim Hill was also a radio host on National radio for many years to which I listened often... and it always struck me how, after asking a question, she would interrupt the interviewee before they had a chance to finish their statement.... To which I found a little rude. Roll on a couple of decades and Pilger was right and Kim Hill made a fool of herself. I've always had the impression that she was more interested in the sound of her own voice... Congratulations on your retirement Kim, brilliant decision.
