I think SM had 2 members/artistes that was "went against the norm ideals" of how a boy group idol should be. one is Kim Heechul, because he look too femine and the other is Shindong, until today, i think he is probably the "biggest size" idol boy group member to ever debut.

Mei Xin ceo was a guy named kim something(forgot his name, don't really like him), i like lee soo man much more, and you can ses all the artist loves lee soo man, and everytime when those issues with members leaving(like H.O.T, tvxq, sj break up were when he wasn't around) and he is the person who can decides who/which group can debut. Lee so man was founder of sm, but wasnt the ceo, now he is the chairman

If you think about it Super Junior couldn't have gotten the coverage it did without Heechul. Sure they were in the same company as HOT, but Heechul was the member who acted in dramas, went on a bunch of variety shows, hosted music shows, shot commercials, etc. He did so much to get his group out there. I'm so happy that now he's getting lots of attention and is well liked by many :)

there's siwon and kibum who had also début as an actor before sj debut. At first the most hottest members in variety is kangin, then leeteuk , eunhyuk and shindong. Just now heechul he had alot of opportunities for him. It's a team effort. And before Yesung ost is a huge hit.

I really like how Heechul refuses to bend to the mould. He's not afraid to speak his mind and be unapologetically himself. And people keep cursing Lee Sooman for how SJ is treated, but the members actually respect and like him a lot. And this incident with Heechul shows just how important Lee Sooman was in shaping SJ into who they are now.

They're laughing now at the idea of a 50 year old idol but mark my words Shinhwa will be there before we know it and frankly I feel super junior will follow they're the kind of men that will only get hotter with age

It's so ridiculous to "age-shame" them when they're still very young, like Leeteuk just turned 34(35 Kor.) While over here in the west, celebrities get to perform even if they're oldies (which SuJu is still far from being xD) But yeah, I think both groups will keep on going pretty strong and hopefully break that young idol stigma, their talent won't wear off anytime soon. Also, this is where the wine theory comes in handy, the older the better (uh, the hotter), and the more mature they look DAYUM.

@@Jenny-ng5il We jab at each other about the age. Its part of the culture. I received the line when I became a nurse and I dish it to my relatives. Its a reality gut punch expression, Asians are more matured than Westeners sans some Chinese. So Age shaming is from one generation to another

I guess Lee Soo Man saw something in Heechul even then thats why he tolerated his attitude and never gave up on him. I'm glad he did. Heechul's very lucky. I don't think other people would have passed with that attitude.

heezharm Dee Lee Soo Man is truly gifted. It's not the first time, he always sees potential in his people and gives them many chances. It's not for nothing that SM is full of great singers, dancers, entertainers, visuals and much more.

I think more than anything, Lee Soo Many saw him as being different and unique, but not in a bad way. Think of the average person joining to become an idol, most likely polite, timid, etc, especially in their early days. Heechul commanded a presence by not being like that, and that difference is what made him stand out (despite being taken negatively) in his early days. It's a shame there are no idols like this any more due to much tighter control over idols; try this now and you'll get booted out within two minutes.

I love that no matter how rebellious Heechul is he is still worried and care for his mother..

I've come to appreciate Heechul quite a lot after hearing his beginning of when he was a trainee. And wow, I'm not surprised that he's still the same after all these years (minus the psychotic looks he had when he debuted, I mean come on, he looked like a poodle that was about to kill you with just a glare lol)!

am I the only one who is bothered by how small the set is and how close everyone sits next to each other. they're so close, so some people's head get in a way of other people's faces. I also don't think it's comfortable for them to sit like that so long during recording.

I like how Heechul is being himself the whole time, refused to bend himself into a shape that company wants cuz everyone is different and by shaping yourself within a concept, you placed limitation upon yourself. Overtime, do you still know your true self and who you are? Of course, I am not saying he should act impolite but outstanding personality in idol industry nowadays is rare among rare, and Heechul is lucky to receive a second chance.

It kinda makes me sad that heechul had to train to try to prevent himself from telling jokes when he's the mc, I mean that's one of the reasons why we love him so much yo !
