I can't stand Patricia Goddard, she was on children's television and she was obnoxious then. So bloody theatrical and grandstanding, Mel & Kim deserve better than her.

OMG, what an awful emotionless audience!!!! Kim looks stunningly beautiful! Love Kim and her sister Mel very much! I was a big fan; their music gave me a lot of positive energy and joy!!!!! I`m 43 now and still enjoying their music! God bless you Kim!!!!

I was in the audience on another occasion. We we’re told what to do what to say and basically it was three hours of boredom. Mel and Kim were the BEST OF THEIR SINGERS IN THE 80s. God bless you Kim, Mel you are a STAR XX

Mel & Kim, omg I had a massive crush on these girls in the 80's loved their music, spent hours mixing their tracks. Absolutely gutted when I heard Mel had passed away. But excited when Kim released a solo hit. As a deejay throughout the 80's I had a big interest in all the artists. The best duo in the UK was Mel & Kim. Rest In Peace Mel. Keep going Kim...

Loved Mel and Kim and still cry when I listen to Kim's music as a solo artist. Beautiful.

I remember talking with my friends about their mysterious and sudden absence from the music scene. They had just gained worldwide fame when they just seemed to vanish. It was a shock to me when the news of Mel's cancer became public, and it was an even bigger shock when she passed away from it. RIP Mel.

The only truly professional television interviewer this country 🇬🇧 has ever had is Michael Apsel. His Saturday night shows of the 1980s were such a pleasure to watch.

Her daughter was 26 in 2005. So now she is 40. Kim is such a brave person.

Mel and Kim should be in the rock and roll hall of fame because they were fantastic

Trisha Goddard show was weird I never liked it unfortunate no compassion from the audience I guess they was looking for some messy juicy gossip

When I was 10 in Chicago, my friend and I auditioned for "Showing Out" and "Push it." For the show Putting on the Hits." We were not good, but in our heads we were Mel and Kim and Salt and Pepa.

My younger sister passed on as youngh woman, too. But in her late 30s. She loved the duo. And I thank them for the music that entertained so many.

Respectable..'respectable..,back then i had no idea they where British even telling by the accent of Mel when she calls "HEY KIM",the dress up was funky but the dance was even funkier.

I've NEVER ever met in my life a worse 'pop-showbiz' story as I did with Mel & Kim. I wasn't properly a fan, and at the very start I thought the two sisters were 'just another product of the '80s' which I had got pretty bored about (the decade, I mean), I used to listen to '70s stuff as I still do nowadays, so... I thought the duo would go on producing 'crap' (I'll be honest) on and on, then would probably have a natural decay much further on as any other popstar on earth, and they would probably end up being remembered for their '80s heyday and on and on... lots of others had that story to tell, some made it also through the '90s and further, but anyway... that's what I thought. Then came the news. 1988, Mel had cancer. Nowadays other popstars have faced such happenings of life and no-one probably remembers about it: Anastacia, Kylie, lots of people... back then it was really like a shock, we weren't accustomed to it, we wouldn't easily think 'oh, come on, she's surely gonna make it'... Mel gave interviews, she was permanently laughing, the media stuck on them as long as they could to give us a positive impression, then blank page. I had noticed their absence from the media all through 1989, when such things happen you tend to think something's not really working... it was happening with Freddie Mercury as well, you might remember... my bad feelings then faded away as time flew by, I was studying, starting to think about my future, the '90s were peeping in and... I had almost forgotten of Mel & Kim, but there it was: Mel had died. It was a shock for me, and I wasn't even a fan... I couldn't believe life had been so rude to a young girl who had been picked up out of the lot by the luxury of show-biz and had just had little time to enjoy it. No other story had gone that way until then, no other story would have gone that way either from then on, if you don't consider the 'damned heroes' whose tough times were even predictable (Kurt Cobain and sorts)... Mel wasn't any 'damned hero', she was just a girl. An unlucky girl. I'm still touched by her story and also by the way it has faded away through the mists of time... they'd make a movie out of that nowadays, to say the least. Not for her, sadly.

Who's the second guest that came on mid way? The interviewer doing what 70% of other (hustler) interviewers keep getting wrong.. hogging up all the build up space! 1: Ask a simple structured question 2: Hush.. as guest builds their response for a well rounded story 3: Less is MORE!

SAW (Pete Waterman's production team) had hits before Mel & Kim, including Dead Or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round'. Kim mentioned that fact in an interview prior to this so I'm not sure why she'd lie, she seems lovely. I dislike Trisha, her show and the bored audience with a vengeance lol, but I really wanted to hear her story. Shame her career didn't take off. Rip Mel 💔
