Kilovolt Tech Talks EP005 - QS138 Liquid Cooled Motor Review & what you need to run liquid cooling
Ғылым және технология
In today's video we take a look at the latest version of the hugely popular @CNQSMOTOR QS138 this Liquid Cooled 90H !
With its awesome liquid cooling this motor should be capable of some SERIOUS power . We also discuss what extra parts are required to run a liquid cooling system.

As a person living in Saudi 🇸🇦 X 🇦🇪 ... thanx for the video ... cuz its getting hot
Thanx for the info! Yes please on the review of the 165 and 180.

5:51. The cooling properties of water are first rate, practically nothing on earth out performs water. The problem with water is that it freezes. Which is why in automotive applications we add "antifreeze," but glycol's (aintfreeze) cooling capabilities are inferior to water. Which is why in racing, people often run straight water, but you have be very careful to drain the system afterword, as if it freezes, due to the fact water expands when it freezes, it will destroy basically everything it is left inside of.
Hi, how much KW do you expect this liquid cooled version can safely withstand?
Pure water is the best coolant that exists. You mix coolant to avoid corrosion and to raise the liquid boiling point.

We mix things in to prevent freezing, we raise the boiling point by placing the system under pressure. The higher the system pressure, the higher the boiling point (the point at which the water turns to gas).
bought one of those Qs motors , to remove the motor sproket is it clock wise counter clock wise ?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was thinking of going with a vector vortex/eleek pozitiffmd you think this will fit 🤔? This with a bac8000 would be the power levels im looking for. If not how much modding would be needed for the motor mounts?
Hey brother, any info on sourcing these in the UK?
Hi there. thank you for the video, is there an issue of overheating the air cooled version? I wonder if I will buy water cooled or air cooled. Because it saves more weight when air cooled. Cheers 🍻
I have a QS 138 water cooled just like this one and am intrigued that the length is significantly longer for the w/c vs air cooled. This is not needed for just adding the water cooling jacket so it implies a longer stator and coils - which would impy greater torque thru the rev range. Would you be able to set up a torque-run comparison of the QS air cooled vs water cooled? It begins to look as though they might have under-rated the water cooled version imo.
How do I get one for my 8000w electric motor
Hey guys I‘m having some overheat issues with my air-cooled 138, not running it higher then 120 degrees celsius. They say peak is 150, any experience how high i can go continuous? I‘d like to avoid the whole liquid cooled add on‘s. Cheers!

The extra weight of tubes, tank and radiator would be huge
Now I want to use it for my electric fast boat conversion. Initially I was thinking about 138. How much power it can hold with water running through, can you test it?

That’s an amazing idea. We will post another episode setting up the liquid cooling system and make sure we measure the internal capacity of the water jacket around the motor .

@@KiloVoltBikes please let me know, I have a 8000watt hub motor that loves to over heat.. this would solve my problems
What is maximum power at peak of water cooled QS138 and how long it last 5-10 sec ?

we are not sure yet we are undertaking stress testing of this motor very soon
bro how u think i can try to install liquid motor to super soco tc max? just want water)))

Couldn't help a brother out and share the sprocket size is it a 3/4 bore 3/16 key ?, just about to check the new vid.

Tapered 21.25mm to 24.5mm bore with 5mm key I believe . See amp sprockets website for specs www.ampsprockets.com/fits-motor/qs-138-90h

QS Needs to make a liquid cooled version of the 180... why make a more powerful motor with less adequate cooling?
I would love a freaking mount that didn't cost a lot

We can supply a mount thats not too expensive i will email you some pics
There is coolant that won’t damage electronics. This coolant is used to submerge crypto miners.
you u might be able to use water cooling for a computer
