Kiln Opening 27! OMG! stunning wall vase AND the return of the Glugglejug!!
Apologies for the low light was trying to see if it worked any better than daylight as the sun and clouds were affecting the light during the day. Will put individual shorts on for each poece to see the colours better.
More beautiful ceramics with a variety of combos from the Amaco, Mayco and Spectrum range of stoneware glazes.

Julia, here’s a helpful reference from Wikipedia about “dunting cracks”. I have really enjoyed all of your kiln unloadings. Thank you. Dunting is a fault that can occur during the firing of ceramic articles. It is the "cracking that occurs in fired ceramic bodies as a result of a thermally induced stress" [1] and is caused by a "ware cooled too quickly after it has been fired".[2][3] Although usually occurring during cooling dunts can also be caused by excessively fast heating rates. Heating dunts can be recognised by rounded edges to the cracks as the glaze matured after they occurred, whereas cooling dunts have sharp edges.[4][5]

Always love your kilnopenings! Since I use your technic with the balls of clay I know how hard is it to get them out of the kiln without any cracks!❤ SonI feel with you when it works out and when it does not! I also have my own collection of cracked flowers and plates😂

@@ceramicsbyjulia8552mine too but I watch colors by earth tutorials and pause play and follow exactly what she does. I have learnt so many tricks. She does very easy things. U can print off the outline pattern off their website first, trace it onto yr piece then follow along in her video. Very easy I promise!

I like the transfer concept. You could consider firing your wall vase lying down by placing stilts under them. Another great firing thank you Julia. NZ.

Nice kiln unload Julia. Good you saved piggy cos he's soooo cute ❤ Can you not put glass chips or marbles in the cracked bowl and fire it again? Maybe it cures the crack..... The vases are absolutely beautiful. The one with the coiled handle is wow 😍 my favourite ❤ Greetz Sheila

Thanks for doing RR combos. I used it again before I saw this and mine turned that ugly brown. So I sold the rest of the glaze. I gave up on it. Wish I had seen your combos first!
