Playing this on an HD tv back then and noticing the engraving on the M4 revolver truly shocked me at how well designed Killzone 2 was. Kudos to Guerrilla Games.

This game looks incredible, i'd say a decade ahead of it's time.

Indeed! You can really feel the passion and the effort of the developers in older games like this. Take for example the og Gears of War trilogy or Bungie Halo on the first Xbox/Xbox 360. Even now they are simply stunning. And most importantly, fun to play. Recent Gears or Halo are a hot mess, lore-wise and/or on a technical level (physics, attention to details etc...). It really saddens me.

Nah, that largely adds to the atmosphere and gameplay, and this is coming from someone who typically despises low FOV's. It's largely why the game is so weighty-slow, always gave me hardcore metal-futuristic-BFBC vibes.

Very true, PS3 was a difficult console to develop for. But you are welcome to play, it’s a public server. If you have a good computer you can always emulate the game. And if you need a saved data to unlock all the soldier classes and abilities there is also a solution to that.

Killzone 3 is still my favorite FPS of all time, I want that game back

We really need more games like this. I remember playing 007 goldeneye on the Wii and it was much more unique and fun to me than the tradition COD game. Maybe it’s just me but I am completely burnt out of COD and would love to see more games like this from other developers come out with their own twists on gameplay and gadgets.

lol! I experience it when your faction does not destroy turrets. Rockets are the counter to turrets but enabling the assault class makes the lobby extra laggy..

We play Killzone 2 courtesy of 1UP and K3rberos who built a costume dedicated server. There are other handful of games available to play online as well, not just KZ2. You only need to change your DNS. Here is a guide to help you to connect. psrewired.com/guides/ps3

They are sleeping on so many FPS, but they are chasing the live service model and Microsoft is smoking them.

As an Xbox owner, I always look at Sony and just don’t understand how they haven’t taken over the multiplayer shooter scene. If they made a modern day ps5 exclusive socom Game and did it right , they could be a major competitor with the tactical Shooter games If they used bungie , they could help revolutionize killzone into a high quality PvP experience

No need for a ps3 if you use the emulator. The only thing you need to keep in mind is to install all the emulator updates one by one. After that you need to get the ROM and also update the Killzone 2 version from the first release to the latest update in order to prevent display and gameplay issues.

Killzone 2, 3 and Shadow Fall servers are all officially closed. Killzone 2 is played via a fan driven server and KZ3 is in the works to be brought back online but no timeline has been given. Just got to wait for now.

@@sebastercats6123 Yeah Sony is missing out on money, people play PS3 a lot of the lack of Dualshock 3 controllers is baffling. You can play with the mouse and keyboard but is very janky. Cheating happens when you play the game at 60 fps lol. Good luck finding a controller my friend. Or turn up the sensitivity on your fake ps3 controller. hope it helps!

The leader of the red eye rangers was DJ Tony Carter. He was co-leader with someone else but I never knew who it was. I did hear clan matches were canceled at times but don’t recall. I am more surprised you remember me being in the red eye rangers.

Man I think I played this with my mate like 15 years ago on Xbox 360, such good times talking shit in cod n halo etc, he had a projector in his room and we’d just play until his mum called us for some food and then we’d hit the herb and maybe go skating or keep playing, this just made me happy and kinda depressed 😂

Gaming is a money making machine now. It’s all about milking the consumers for every cent they got. It’s no longer about making a quality game with a lot of content to make us happy. Now, they release a game half way done, and they just charge you money for the rest of the content. It’s absolutely pathetic. This industry is at its worst right now. COD with its stupid battlepass crap and all these stupid skins that cost a ridiculous amount, EA just announced that the new BF game will be a live service game, Halo is a live service game, you got Ubisoft making you pay well over $100 for a complete game, sports games are trash, racing games are pretty trash as well now….i can keep going.
