Both singers make this band legendary. I love both singers and all of their releases!

I remember seeing this on MTV2 at about 15 years old, went and picked up the CD, and I've been a metal fan ever since. I grew up with lots of classic rock, but this absolutely opened the doors for me to bands like As I Lay Dying, Trivium, All That Remains, etc.

Heard this song when I was 11 and fell in love 🖤 I will be 31 next week and KSE is STILL one of my top faves

This has to be, overall, the best Metalcore song of all time.

This song takes me back to my high school days and playing football with my best buddies.. Life happens fast and it's so easy to lose touch with all of your friends you grew up with. This brings back some great memories for me! That's why I love music, it's like a time machine for your memories.

Everytime I feel my demons telling me it's my time, I think of this song. It's never really in our power to sing our last serenade, but it's in our power to keep the song going on. From sorrow to serenity.

I have over 1500 cd's in my collection and I still think that Alive or Just Breathing is a top5 album of 'em all. Simply Brilliant and especially Jesse delivers here.

The thing that makes metal so much better than mainstream music is the amount of heart and extent to which the band puts into their music. It's not for the money, it's not for the fame, it for bands to express their lives, themselves. Their pain, their love, their experiences, are all manifested by their skills and talents. Singers blow out their voices, suffer from depression, anxiety, and drummers move onto new frontiers, lead guitarists commit suicide. The amount of an indescribable emotion that surrounds metal music and their personal counterparts (band members) can only be referred to as such. For it is so emotional to a point of unfathomableness. That is why metal and rock will always be my favorite music.

This song hits me the same way, every single time for over 20 years. Absolutely brilliant

This song helped me transition from teen fumbling my way through freshman year of college and struggling from a breakup to a young man discovering how much i love metalcore and how to own up to my mistakes. Ill forever be grateful to jesse leech and the kse guys for this song

I think everyone has had to walk away from a relationship before in their life. It hurts, but you know it is the right thing to do. You can feel pity for that person for so long before it turns to anger.

Honestly depends of how much damage on one-side/both sides has done. But indeed is the best for both parties to walk away from the toxic relationship has become over the years. Nevertheless hurts to walk away something you adored/loved and the only thing you have are memories from the past.

The second song I ever heard by killswitch and one of the greatest and always will be....Howard or Jesse Killswitch is Killswitch and that's that.

I love how the bass is really audible in this song. Creates that punchy in your face feeling. Can't help but headbang!

I discovered KSE at 16. I'm 35 going in 36 now. I was a fan since they were signed to Ferret.22 records. This song wasn't on that particular album, but a few of the songs on this very Alive or just Breathing album were. All I'm trying to say is that Metalcore is Metalcore, but KSE are a genre unto their own... whether with Howard or Jesse.

Gotta be one of the best metal songs ever made. Unreal even all these years later

I told him in person ten years ago and I'll say it again, his voice is so damn unique. I can't find anyone that sounds like him. He is more gifted than he will ever know. Lyrically and vocally, he will always be my favorite. I still get chills from it.

"From Yourself You Can't Run Away" hits so deep.

While cleaning on a Saturday afternoon, I heard this riff and it stopped me in my tracks. This was far better than other new metal bands. Hooked immediately. Still blasting the 2nd and 3rd KSE albums.

That shit that is pop and techno isn't the same genre, look up Parkway Drive and, the Devil Wears Prada, they are two amazing modern metalcore bands that are just like this. So I saw them open for Slipknot on October 30th in Houston. It was amazing, I genuinely cried because I never thought I’d ever see them (I grew up in a very religious home that didn’t let me listen to this stuff often) I cried and they played this song and I’ll never forget that experience 🥰🥰🥰

This is what WAAF Worcester/Boston would typically play before like 2015 & before they went out and called the last broadcast. Mistress Carrie is still kickin hard tunes on The Pike station Classic Rock, but she basically carried (no pun intended ) the Spirit of WAAF over to The Pike. I remember her first broadcast by herself as a DJ or one of them. Maybe a Saturday, but I remember she pretty much just picked up a mic for someone that left lol I could be wrong. Brings me back, not far, but far enough for an escape to another time, even still better than now. Bless the good rock stations that were, and that are left. Bless Carrie, Rocko, Opie, Anthony, John Osterland... I grew up on you and I hope you DJ forever 🤘🇺🇲

I remember the day back 2009, I was going home in My school bus along with My CD player, and I found this song on a compilation CD I was going through that My Brother did for Me, and when I first heard this by looking out the window on the bus, I started thinking about the girl who I was in love with, and this song has been in My heart since then!!!!!

Dude, I remember the day when I saw this chick I knew in high school wearing a jock, and I will never forget the day the way I saw Her get off the school bus and the way She looked at Me when getting off the bus when I heard this classic playing in My headphones back in 2009... 😍😍😍😍😍 Dude... Thus was a good friend of mines favorite band. He has passed away now, and I was 17 when I first heard this band and I am 28 now, and this band always bring his memory to my mind. You will be missed (A.U)TOMMY !!!
