@@thesquad827 ethical point aside, the whole reason the Amazon is on fire in the first place is because cattle ranchers have consistently used burn tactics to clear out forests. Logging doesn't even pose reprimand for 19% of deforestation in the Amazonas Basin. Yet legislators and nationalized party's don't want to address the root of the problem because they recieve ruralist support, financial assets (usually grease payments; advert cover ups and fiscal lobby tax dollars) and most importantly to multinational thugs a political foothold in the backroads of many urban centers. The agrubusiness sector, especially animal feed and husbandry shares, is so ridiculously gigantic it has outpaced most utility and retail corporates, only multinationals are of comparison. The thugs in uniforms running the profit margins of capitalism don't want to give up the benefits of liable allies in livestock business, the likes of which are so powerful they could price drop and destroy your entire business, or defame your personal acquisitions. So much so that even nonprofits like Greenpeace and the Sierra Club objected to their employees speaking out against the factory farming monopolies. Not to mention those pretty free range and organic labels are just liberal trash greenwashing to divert media attention to the false promise of justification for pesky habits, much similar to disposable plastic recycling conspiracies. The single best thing you can do is to stop eating at least meat or animal products altogether, next to mass transit and zero waste source reduction

@@Padge112 although that is true, mother nature is much more unquenchable for us to tame or manage, as evident to the anthropogenic environmental crisis. But what difference does that make in not stopping the 1% from killing everything around them including ourselves? It shouldn't matter whether other animals are brutalizing each other or not, or how self idealized and destructive other taxons are. We are different than them, we have such a high capacity for empathy and altruism that it is deeply rooted in our psychological nature, justice systems and mainstream culture. We don't have to wipe out other organisms, or entire regions, or even just indivdiuals for our own selfish convenience. We are not rabid and primitive, our social structure is highly moralized and we should not be harming others when we have the capability to not do so to such a high standard, especially in western society where information is easily accessible. We only cling to a realism approach on many things because a certain group of globalist elites tell us to because it benefits them and not us or the common people

Brazil has 66.3% of its territory, that is, 631,758,477 hectares, preserved with native vegetation. The volume represents more areas of vegetation than that found in the United States (which has only 19.9% of native vegetation) and the European Union (with 17.9% of the conserved area) combined. And agribusiness has a significant participation in this scenario, as 25.6% of the entire preserved area in our country is within rural properties. This means that the areas preserved within Brazilian farms alone are equivalent to ten European countries: Ireland, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Italy. This large extension of preserved areas in rural areas is thanks to the use of conservation practices, the adoption of modern technologies and the application of techniques such as Crop-Livestock-Forest Integration (ILPF). In this way, we achieve high productivity without the need to open new areas for agricultural cultivation and livestock production. Brazilian legislation also favors environmental conservation, since the current Brazilian Forest Code, in force since 2012, determines the preservation of area on rural properties according to the biome where the farm is located. In the Amazon, producers need to preserve 80% of the property with native vegetation, in the Cerrado the requirement is 35% and in the other four biomes (Caatinga, Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Pampa and Pantanal) it is necessary to preserve 20% of the area.

I used to be an environmental activist, but now I’ve lost the ability to care. Nothing will ever change meaningfully because there is too much profit and too many social norms tied up in the status quo. The Anthropocene will not stop until humans have taken everything from the Earth, and that’s an unavoidable fact. I just hope that after we’ve finished terraforming our own planet for the sake of profit, some non-human life will still survive.

In other words, production increases, but carbon dioxide emissions decrease. The following are some data presented by the study: . Agricultural area in Brazil is one of the smallest percentages (7.5%); . Area destined for agricultural and livestock use together: Brazil has one of the lowest percentages (27.8%); . Areas of native and planted forests: Brazil has the highest percentage of its territory preserved (58.5%). The other countries have percentages below 35%.
