This master piece transport me to fourty five years in the past. SOFTLY

It is said that thos song was written as a tribute to Don McLean and his poetic, storytelling lyrics and beautiful guitar playing. Roberta Flack did a masterful job of this song.

The guy was Don McLean. His song was Empty Chairs. The woman who saw Don perform his song was Lori Lieberman. She did the original version of Killing Me Softly With His Song in 1972, one year before Roberta Flack's cover.
