At 62 years of age I can categorically state that Kevin ' Geordie ' Walker was the Greatest and most influential guitarist that I have ever heard or seen. I had the pleasure and joy of seeing K.J play live on many occasions never more so than a Sunday night in October of 2003 when they performed at Leeds Metropolitan University - Cracking Form - probably the best live gig that I have ever attended. There are no words to express the devastation and loss that thousands of fans must be feeling. Heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Geordies Friends, Family and of course Fellow Band Members. R.I.P ' Big Man '.❤❤❤

A friend broke the sad news to me yesterday. I have been lucky enough to see Geordie performing with the band on a number of occasions & I can only echo what other people are saying about how important & influential he was to music from the late 70's onwards. When I was having guitar lessons at the age of 17, I asked my old hippy guitar teacher if we could work on 'Empire Song' which was out at the time. He said he couldn't as it wasn't "proper music & chords", as he put it. He was a veteran guitar player from the 60's & what he said was unintentionally, actually a great compliment to Geordie, because no matter how good the guitarist was, nobody could replicate the sound he got out of those guitars. Legend. R.I.P.

One of the most lasting legacies that Geordie will leave behind, is that you can make a uniquely incredible sound from something like that "bee-bop" guitar. Like seeing a fairly innocent looking small vintage car & when it starts up, it sounds like a savage dragster. Sad that really, Killing Joke could just about continue without Raven, but there's absolutely no way the band could go on without Geordie 😢 💔

just finding out about Geordies passing now, and can not believe it. as a huge KJ fan from 82 on, nobody played guitar like Geordie, and I'm so glad I got to see KJ both right after Outside The Gate and during Extremities, that record has some huge Geordie sounds !! but this is truly sad. I'm 59, so our ages were not that far apart. man, what a huge loss...... RIP GEORDIE xoxo
