    Killer Mike is literally talking over Vlads head. To much knowledge for this channel 💯

    Even Hopsin talks over Vlad's head and he's pretty dumb, you have to speak to Vlad in monosyllables and non-abstract concepts or he just sort of drifts off and fantasises about sneakers.

    I disagree to a point. I think Vlad is good at reading his subject almost like a fighter reads their opponent. If his guest has a valuable message, then Vlad basically pitches simple questions that can handle well explained answers. If the guest doesn't have any particular message, then Vlad asks a ton of questions to keep them engaged. Of course this is just my opinion. However, I challenge you to go re-watch some interviews with my theory applied.

    It's about what we do with the legacy he leaves behind though. Unlike Hillary, he's actually energized an entire generation, so in a way, he's already won. At least... He has if we start pushing for candidates that align with his policies. It seems like there's a lot of potential for there to finally be a third party that can actually shake things up

  • @PhiloAmericana

    Danny Aleman Well, my impression is that the 'movement' will collapse into thin air once he's gone. As much as I want it to work, I think most of these young people base their views on passion, rather than consistent and grounded principle. And it's not entirely clear to me that they're willing to do the work needed to hold politicians' feet to the fire, and get programs passed for the good of working class of this country. I really do hope I'm wrong, because we really need something like a New Deal to bring us truly into the 21st century.

  • @thedman05

    @thedman05

    8 жыл бұрын

    +PhiloAmericana the risk is definitely there, there is no doubt about that. It happened after Obama got elected. As much as I hate to say it, the American left have always been a bunch of fucken losers who always get their asses whipped by pretty much everyone. But that has largely been because organizing is hard for working class people, who lack both the time and resources to really build movements usually. I think that social media has helped change the landscape though, and the rising pressures of inequality (debt peonage of millenials is a huge issue, along with a lower quality of living than the previous generations). The political capital is there, so it's definitely possible for a third party to rise, especially as the more conservative older generations are beginning to kick the bucket (baby boomers). We'll just have to see how it pans out and do our part. That's all we ever can do really

  • @Eusantdac

    @Eusantdac

    +PhiloAmericana "I think most of these young people base their views on passion, rather than consistent and grounded principle" - Passion is very powerful and it can also last a very long time in some cases. This is just the beginning. The fire Mr. Sanders light is going to keep going but we all know that social change takes a long time. And it's happening around the world too, not just in the States: people are no longer accepting corruption and the marriage of corporations with government.

  • @thedman05

    Eusunt Dac I'm inclined to agree with this. I really do think that the rise of the internet and mobile tech has a lot to do with it too, because a lot of things that used to be swept under the rug and never noticed get uncovered now. The real key is... will it gain momentum before climate change accelerates? What about if it doesn't? I'd like to at the very least see the businesses that have always held the economies hostage and done the most damage to pay for what they've done (I'd love to see me some of those douchenozzle CEO's finally go to jail)

Hold your elected officials accountable during town halls and public comment periods. And thank them when they do fight for your interests. It's so important. +Bennie Smith he's more knowledgeable than a rap interviewer? Who would have thought? Why do people always do this with political rappers. When they get interviewed by people who are not political, everyone's all, "Oooh they're so intelligent. The other person can't keep up". I wanna see Killer Mike or any other political rapper actually debate a formidable intellectual from the other side. Hell, even a satirical person like a PJ O'Rourke or something. Then if they can hold their own against people like that, I'll applaud.

    ***** well frankly we'll never know though unfortunately because they never DO that. They always stay in their "lane". They go on RT or Bill Maher and such. Only person I saw go to the viper's nest was Lupe Fiasco when he went on O'Reilly, and there was not enough depth to that interview to really judge, but he did alright. Mos Def and that guy from the Coup (really forgot his name) did not come across as all that bright though when they went on Maher. A show they should have been comfortable in, by the way. You can say Immortal Technique with Alex Jones as well, but I those two are conspiracy theorists and easily found some common ground, so I don't know.

    +Python Fatal Im not applauding Killer Mike and I've seen him on other platforms with credible mainstream political analysts and journalists hold his own and make strong points. It's Vlad's cockiness and arrogant attitude towards his less politically inclined guests that makes me root for a Killer Mike when it comes to speaking on real issues that aren't about hip hop beef or reality show whores or what have you. I thought it was funny to see Vlad have to actually turn his brain on and try to keep up which he could not.
