I’ve always wondered what the story is behind these collections you buy. Are these people who collected and no longer care about the stuff? I can’t imagine wanting to get rid of such awesome stuff

Various reasons - sometimes it's inherited. Other times money may be a factor but I try not to pry. I think some people just want to cash out.

That is a great collection! Lots of great albums. Completely agree on the Carnivore Retaliation, one of the most aggressive albums to ever be released. The self titled is good also. I'm from AZ as well and have been collecting vinyl for over 30 years now. Ive sold off a good portion of my collection but still have some really rare stuff. Got a sizeable Vektor collection all signed from back in the day when they played here in AZ in the late 00s/ early 10s. The problem with the "limited edition" color represses is that they totally overdo them now. They re-release the same albums as "SUPER RARE, LIMITED COLORED.... blah blah blah" and limit them to 500 to 1000 which would be great but then they wait 2 years and do it again with different colors, then 1 more year and the same albums re-released with different colors.... next thing you know, that album has every color the human eye can see released over 10 years at 10,000 total copies. Totally playing on collectors to buy every expensive version out there. The market for them is WAY down from where it was 10-15 years ago before they started really overprinting them. The reality is, and I'm sure you know, rarity is what drives high prices. re-print numbers are becoming out of control for most re-releases now. I wouldn't pay over $20 for any of them that they constantly re-release and I find them in bargain sections at Zia's now because they can't sell them. The real gems will always be the OGs from the 80s, 90s and such. They will continue to gain value but the represses are becoming like 1989 Topps baseball cards. So many of them that it's more expensive to store them than collect them lol. Still, taking nothing away from the collection, there's some amazing LPs in there... but the BoB and Relapse stuff... it's just super over pressed. They've burnt the vinyl market out imo. I wonder what you paid for all of that. If you got it for pennies on the dollar.... good on ya man. I may sell the rest of mine soon but I would just list them on Ebay/Discogs and let them sit. I definitely wouldn't dump them for low value. Cheers from another metal desert rat since 87.

Ihsahn is from Emperor. Buzzoven is sludge metal. Drug Honky is the band name, not Drug Nardu. Some good stuff in this video & also some not good stuff.

Yeah, I know I messed up that Emperor thing...to be fair, I'm not a huge fan of those guys...they don't suck, but they aren't for me. I agree - it's about 70% stuff I dig / 30% not so much.
