Yea I wish my city would use a little less salt and maybe put down sand like they do up in parts of the north east and I'm sure there's a few other states that use sand as well.. I've read that lots of places in Canada use sand instead of salt..it's less damaging to the roads and vehicles.. but because my state uses salt and this liquid potassium chloride mix, the first warm day I get in the 40s I go to the local car wash and spray off the entire undercarriage and the body..you can always tell a car that's been either not driven in salt or that's always been washed off asap vs a vehicle that's driven in winter and never washed off afterwards... It's always a good idea to spray off a vehicle asap after winter driving...

I had a 69 F100. 390 with a cam. December. Hadn't started it for 2 months. My car wouldn't start below 30°F. 0° and the apartment complex had surrounded it with 2' berms of snow. The guy I had traded a F250 for the car, came over to see if he could start the car. When it wouldn't start, I said it's truck time. Went over and cranked it about 5 minutes, back when gold autozone batteries were the shizzle. Friend , mechanic, lol, says it's not going to start. I say it will. Another few minutes it starts. Dude says you are stuck. Start rocking it, on 255 street tires, break on thru to the other side. Gotta love a FE !

My friend lives in Iowa supposed to be 50- below 0 Friday I would pray for death lol
Everything used to drive tri five chevys in the winter you’re just keeping the tradition alive
Back of my dad’s day they used to drive those in in the winter, so I don’t know what the big deal is lol.
i drove them in the 60's and they all made that noise, but with a good choke they fire up immediately, they never had a good heater in them, and 57 chevies used to be 75.00 bucks to 350.bucks,bought many of them for 185.00 now,you need a loan
We drove them in the winter all the time and they were stock configuration!
Sounds pretty good once you get it started
I live in Michigan I would not drive that car in the winter. Starting and running it is fine just they use so much salt here it rots everything.
worst fear is a spun bearing on the crank if too cold idle only let it warm up no revving it...spun bearings are a real risk thick oil the reason...risky bud...merry christmas
Runs best with fresh cold air! 🥶 Hope the defrost runs as good as that engine. Not dumb at all, I'd do it if it snowed where I'm at. Chains at all?
Its total ok to drive a classic in winter. As long the salt never get a big grip on her! A car is for use after all. 😊
Well it was driven in the winter when it was new. When I was a kid we drove a 55 Chevy every day all year around in northern Canada. I for years have driven my 31 Ford roadster in the middle of the winter in eastern Washington. That's with no door windows etc
Reminds me of my young paratrooper days. Leaving a house party in the morning. 50 below...but gettin at it.
I'd rather hear the car turning over than to hear. You say she'll go, she'll go.
Nope nope your absolutely awesome for driving it all the time bro !!! ❤all year round Canada 🇨🇦 ehhh
I feel this video too hard Haha I drive a 66 mustang and it's been a winter all right hahahaja great content 😂
That thing must be fun to drive in winter... Major drift machine.... Lol...
That car much better than any of the new crap they force on us today. This car was built back when they made cars to last instead of having to recycle them after 5 or 6 years. Plus you can easily fix anything on it yourself with a small set of everyday tools. All she needs is Spark and fuel easy to fix and she is BEAUTIFUL unlike modern-day cars.
That would be so much fun...!!
I'll tell you that I wouldn't drive it in the winter or until it rained hard twice in the spring. The salt could damage it worse than not doing maintenance. That and fear of other drivers on a slippery road. There's few enough of the great classics now.
You sir are a hero among men
It's the winterpeg thing to do. Smarter than the average bear
take that baby in the house, love the ol 57
I would rather drive that car than practically anything else. I wish I had that car to drive.
It was built to drive so drive it... I wanted so bad to see this car and meet you and Danny when you were in st Louis for power tour. Had to work so maybe next year.
Nice reliable 57' Chevy. Back in the day people drove them. Thats what they were built for
Rock on Dan!
Bro I love it...👍👍
Drive whatever wherever. I hope you have heat, but it certainly sounds healthy regardless.
Run full synthetic. a LS likes to eat cam bearrings at minus 40c.
She started she ain't diggin it , hammer down
i saw the MB plates and I was like yep there's winnipegger dedication
I love it Dan
Carport. A roof on stilts. Kitset carports are easy to have delivered. One in front of each garage will extend your weather protection. Protect your investments.
Man I would love to drive it anytime
Man I'm so jealous I would love to have that as my daily driver
Notice the gas gage went from 1/4 tank to empty. That wasn't enough to start it
Sounds great
You are just as happy as if you had good sense.keep twiddleing your thumbs
Reminds me of the car the late Nascar driver Speedy Thompson drove. Same colors and everything.
Love you love your show drive that thing
YOUR THE MAN SIR 👍
I drove my 4dr post in the winter. Had to break 2 inches of ice off one year. Just remember, they will make it illegal to drive old cars in the near future (unless you're Jay Leno or someone). So have fun while it lasts.
I think it's a very good car to drive in the winter snow .
