Do I really have to say this? Sigh.. fine.. a Heads Up Display is not Augmented Reality. They are completely different technologies. When you consider the level of tracking and computation required to pull of AR, its almost offensive to put a HUD in the same category. When I see people mix them up, I immediately think "noob" and they lose my interest (if not respect). Come on people, we can do better.
