Napakaganda magbalik tanaw sa mga nakaraan. Para tayong naka Time Machine. Sana the Gov of Jaro Iloilo help the family to take care of this house and make it into Tourist Spot, ang dami dami pa gamit na my magandang kwento., like Bahay ni Rizal in Laguna, like Vigan mga oldest House ginawa nila Hotel. Same ganito un mga design. sa Europe mga Castle ang gawa nila noon unang panahon. And now naging Tourist Spot, for the next generations. Thanks for sharing this video.

Same nakakamiss buhay dati, 90's kid po ako lumaki ako sa bahay ng Lola ko as in ancestral home talaga siya. Pati tv sinauna ung may cabinet na bubuksan pa. Heheheh kakamiss❤❤❤❤ kaso iba din mga kamag anak ko agawan sa lupa, wala na apartment na siya now 😢😢😢

Our late aunt, the chairman of the jaro fiesta for a long time doesn’t want any of her young lady nieces or relatives to join the queen of jaro contest because she believes that once you take that float going around the streets of jaro, the crowds will always ask ‘whose daughter is she?!’ And that will start the digging of the family history/background and people will talk if she deserved to be the reyna, talk about her gown, or howvpretty she is or not..

Casa Mariquit Spanish words po kase yan. Meaning ladybug house in English. Sa Tagalog means bahay ng kulisap. Di naman po marikit ang mariquit niya.

Di pa ako nakapunta ng Iloilo, pero sabi nila maraming mayayaman sa Iloilo noong araw. Pag may ganyang bahay, mayaman.

Thank you for this tour! I had goosebumps watching you tour this house built in the 1800s. Its interesting to know how they lived back then, they surely lived well. Its nice to see even just a glimpse of their past life, how it was sophisticated and classy. I hope to visit this place too one day soon. Thank you once again for your efforts.

Jaro, Iloilo City is the home of the elite millionaires during the Spanish/American time. Jaro cathedral and seminary was built in the 1860's so yes this house is older than the cathedral. The capital was transferred to Iloilo City from Manila during the last heyday of the Spanish government. USS Panay ship that was blown by Japanese in China and the reason why USA joined the Pacific war was named after Panay. So yes the city was probably in the center of commercial and government of different times. Mga owner ng mga mansion nayan may mga position sa gobyerno at mga sugarcane landlords mga yan. Kami sa tabi tabi lang. 😁

@@suskagusip1036 i once asked my late ledesma aunt why many ilonggos become wealthy, she said because they invested in real estate in manila..the gregorio araneta group bought large tracks of lands in sta mesa heights and the sight of araneta univ.for only 50. cents/sq m., amading araneta bought the area of the araneta center, the ledesma/lopez around malate and roxas blvd, the ledesma’s owned negros navigation and the lopezes into business, and the montinola too, like Amon trading owned by aurelio montinola, Gami machineries by gregorio araneta. wealthy ilonggos have large haciendas in negros occ., they owned sugar centrals! In the colonial days your hacienda is as far as your eyes can see..you can claim it and have it titled! That’s why some people won’t believe if you tell them your great grandfather owned 18 haciendas, rode on a horse in white sharkskin suitcw/ white hard hat and a wept, the image of a true haciendero during those time..to this day a barangay is name after him..he donated that land to the people in the hacienda. He was a cousin of graciano, he financed graciano’s trip/medicine schooling in spain.

@@tinavelasco8646 Wow thanks for sharing your family story. I have a Ledesma classmate before they look Mestiza so I bet they're half Spanish half Filipino. All the favors for them during the Spanish time but she was so humble and don't brag about their past. That Angelicum mansion I haven't heard of any family descendants. They sold that mansion to a school which preserved the mansion. There's more millionaires there not mentioned in this vlog. Many Chinese descendants and of course Filipino. One if Florete family who owns several malls, banks, jewelries and radio stations. Ganzon family also used to be a city mayor. Many rich families and Chinese business men donated money and scholarships to the Iloilo City and to many unfortunate ones.

glad to say i've been there when i was in college. our soc sci instructor took us there. sobrang unique. ganda talaga. nakapasok din kme sa parang underground. napaka dilim tsaka nakakatindig balahibo. parang di mo maipaliwanag yung pakiramdam.
