The region boasts unique monuments, rich traditions, but above all, unique nature. The oldest mountains in Poland are impressive with their character and unique charm. I will tell you a lot of interesting things about Kielce.
The city of Kielce was formed over 900 years ago on the Swietokrzyskie Mountains. Another interesting fact is that the height difference here is from 260 to 480 m. The first mention of Kielce dates back to the 11th century. The city was the property of the Krakow bishops.
Cathedral Basilica is the oldest historical building in Kielce, built in the Romanesque style in 1171.
The Palace of the Bishops of Krakow has become a symbol of the city, the building houses the National Museum with its collections of valuable exhibits in the field of painting, folk art, crafts, architecture, archeology and nature.
Kadzielnia Nature Reserve in Kielce is a rocky hill built of Upper Devonian limestone covered with rocky vegetation.
The coral reef and 14 caves created inside it are located in the Kadzielnia Geological Reserve. Geologists' Rock - a monolith in the center of the reserve - still remembers those times when instead of a city there was a warm and shallow sea. Caves in Cadzeln. The underground route, 140 meters long, consists of three caves, in which we can observe the phenomena characteristic of the rocks of this area. We will find here, among other things, fossils of animals living in the Devonian Sea, cave infiltrates and the remains of bats in the cave silt.
