ABOUT CHICAGO FIRE
From renowned Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf ("Law & Order" brand) and co-creator Derek Haas, the writer behind "3:10 to Yuma," comes Season 8 of "Chicago Fire." The family inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other. Capt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) leads the Truck Company and brash Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) runs the Rescue Squad. The firehouse also includes Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), a fireman's fireman. Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) returns alongside seasoned veteran Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Randy "Mouch" McHolland (Christian Stolte), as well as resourceful firefighter Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). Completing the team are dependable squad member Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), paramedic Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) and the newest addition, candidate Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).

Brett and Foster shouldn't have let Kidd drive herself home, but other than that, it goes to show that the firehouse is one big family, Kidd wanted to apologize to Boden for *supposedly* letting him down, but he apologized instead, saying that he was still dealing with the loss of Otis. Then they hugged it out and I thought that was heartwarming Firehouse 51 family is best family

Well the other car was heading straight into the pavement so? 😂
exhaustion leads to rushing which leads to accidents. Using myself as a prime example, I did a split shift today and in the second half rushed to do something and tripped and scraped myself up. When you are tired, try to a ) find time to say no and rest or b) slow and be aware of your surroundings
So we just gonna ignore that the other car was headed straight for the curb???

when you're a paramedic or a nurse, you end up with things like flashlights, tape, alcohol wipes, IV-related items in your pockets
To butcher the old catchphrase: "Friends don't let friends drive drunk." Friends also don't let friends drive when they are half asleep. With "friends" like them, she doesn't need enemies. If they didn't/couldn't drive her home, they should have had her take a power nap in the station and then have somebody check if she is able to drive before letting her drive home.
@memyselfandi7782

Sometimes you don't think like that in the spur of the moment. Yes they should've caught on that she was hazy and given another alternative, but it probably didn't register. But I see the point you are trying to make otherwise.

Totally thought this would of been dramatic like the crash on The Resident from a nurse being exhausted from working over time. But it's bloody scary when this happens I've been there more than once from working long hours to cover other staff who don't care about their jobs. Think of your co workers when your social lives take priority over your job peeps.
I swear i always heard 'i'm okay, check the other driver' now i hear 'I'm okay, check the other people' huh
I agree 👍
Where’s the stop sign, it looks like green car is at fault unless I’m blind...?

squishies funny she’s ultimately to blame for this. She knew she was beyond exhausted and got in the car. She could have easily took a quick nap at the firehouse or asked one of them to take her home.

I said this from the start of the season 11 series Mcarver has it out for Stella did u see his face in the season finale when she said she's going to get her husband and bring him home
Driving tired is worse than driving drunk.
Brett and Foster: Considered when they see Kidd barely having the ability to walk because of how tired she is Also Brett and Foster: Lets her drive herself home alone
I just keep thinking about how Mouch, Hermann, Gallo, and Casey could see the accident coming, like that sucks
Kidd shouldve known when to call it quits

Driving while you're drowsy is just as worse as drunk driving.
What is the weather?
I've stupidly driven that tired but i have never crashed I was just very lucky.
True friends should have driven her home. She was falling asleep standing up.
you are the bast
So..... she looked good enough to them to drive? Ok i guess lmao
Why would they not let her go to the academy but let her be at the wheel?? It doesn’t make sense
When covid-19 wasn't a thing
She probably coulda just drank a lot of coffee
None of this should have happened. Her friends saw she was in a fragile state and they should have driven her home.
Eduardo👍simao
A lot of you are saying it’s was the Lady’s fault and not Kidd’s why? Because you like her. That’s not how that works! First off Brett or faster should had taken her home. Second she was way too Tired to be driving in the first place. And third She ran the stop sign. So.......
We've got to take better ownership of ourselves, and not get into these situations. If you are quite tired - to do ANYTHING, then either take a quick nap or have someone give you a ride home. We need to recognize our capabilities as well as our limitations. Don't try to function at 1%, because that makes it dangerous for EVERYONE.
I think it was Kidd's fault too she should have told boden That she was too tired To do that thing

Okay people lets remember that this is a tv show and not real life. So it was part of the script for Brett and Foster to let Kidd drive herself home and for her to get in the accident. But if that were a real life situation Brett and Foster letting Kidd drive herself home even though they can clearly see how exhausted she is doesn't make them bad friends. I have several very good friends and even a couple of family members that have let me drive when they knew that I was going on very little to no sleep. Looking back at it now, no they shouldn't have but they did and thankfully nothing happened other than me not remembering parts of my drive.
