Kid "stealing" 15 cents?

What was you think in this scenario? I picked up my 5 year old son from his dad's today he goes mommy I have $2 while it was only 15 cents cuz he doesn't know yet so I explained that to him I said okay and went on my way. Then I get a huge text message saying that this behavior is inappropriate and that I should have said something to him or his wife about our child having 15 cents that came from their house. I guess he was not given that 15 cents so he said it was stealing. Of course he had to rub it in my face because I got caught stealing at one time he said that this behavior is going to lead to being just like me.
If this was a dollar bill $5 bills a $50 bill whatever if it was a bill I would have turned around and said hey did you give this to him. But being that it was 15 cents one I figured he either found it on the ground or somebody did give it to him because it's just change. #custody #coparenting #kidsbelike #kids

Seems like, with this new information, one should find the kid and ask him where he got the money. Once that is clarified, you can decide what course of action to take. 1) If the money was given to the kid or he found it on the ground, you tell dad that. 2) If the kid took the money (say off of dad's dresser), you take the kid to dad and make him apologize and give the money back because learning not to take other people's things (even small things that aren't worth very much) is an important part of teaching your child how to interact in society. Dad and stepmom are way over-reacting, but still, they're not wrong if he did take something he shouldn't (I hesitate to call it stealing because I suspect the child was too innocent to understand that's what he did.)

😂 2 sense… Touché Pretty negative outlook an opinion to have on such a small child let alone his mother instead of turning it into a shame party on mom maybe dad could’ve just taken the reins and handled it like a man and instilled his firm ideologies instead of like usual using it as ammo and an opportunity to take a stab at mom what a jerk
