Kid Rock is a singer renowned for his hit songs “Picture,” “Only God Knows Why,” “All Summer Long,” “Born Free,” “Cowboy,” “Redneck Paradise,” and “First Kiss.” He worked with artists like Sheryl Crow, Aerosmith, Run DMC and T.I. - amassing billions of global streams and receiving international acclaim.
Lyrics:
I remember waiting for the school bus
Jenny Clayton was my first crush
And neither one of us had a clue
An old Cheyenne it was my first truck
Rusted, rough and kinda beat up
But when she jumped in it felt brand new
And now these days when I drive through a small town
I turn my stereo up and roll my windows down
’Cause it reminds me of my first kiss
And those days that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time
Just to love you again
I remember drinking from the same cup
We’d break up just to make up
I remember falling in love with you
Smokin’ cigarettes on the tailgate
Man it seems like it was yesterday
When Main Street felt like Park Avenue
And when I’m driving through any ol’ small town
I turn my stereo up and roll my windows down
’Cause it reminds me of my first kiss
And those times that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time
When forever felt like it would never come
And we never thought we’d turn 21
So young we thought this could never end
Oh how I wish we could go back again
And now that time has taken over
And we can’t fight this getting older
But somehow baby we made it through
And every time I’m a lookin’ at you
It reminds me of my first kiss
And those days that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time
Just to love you again
Just to love you again
Just to love you again
Just to love you again
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time

I wish I COULD feel 16 again, but at 55 the arthritis reminds me that there are too many years between then and now for it to happen. I actually didn't listen to KR except for the All Summer Long song until a couple of weeks ago Now I realise genuinely talented he really is and I listen to many of his songs daily now. His song Born Free even makes me want to be an American. I'm Australian though, but there's a lot more to this man like his visits to Vet's that shows he's a genuinely good individual and no one hit wonder. Have a great day!

I miss the old kid rock before disrespecting our vets. He was one of the ones who screamed “F kapernick and anyone who kneels to the flag.” N that became a huge talking point for the right. But they had forgotten a little over 10 years prior we had vets kneeling to the flag to protest their brothers lost in Fallujah to a pointless war they were lied to about in order to be brainwashed into supporting. But back then the left n right were pretty much in agreement about the war in Iraq, and how we shouldn’t have gone there. So because of that, right wing media didn’t fear monger the kneeling. And nobody cared. Fast forward to kapernick…it was suddenly a problem. “Find a new way to protest” aka “find a new way to enact your first amendment because kneeling to the flag is disrespectf so we’re gonna suppress your right to do that, even though us conservatives broke flag code at EVERY Trump rally since 2015” it’s a damn shame you can tell those people are just virtue signaling our stars n stripes becsause the irony is so strong they have no clue

This one and roll on are 2 that make you reminisce and that's what country songs are suppose to do. Make you think back to better times in your life.

I'm a huge die-hard Eminem fan *em and kid did a song together, and kid was also in the music video for the song berserk* I know with Eminem, he ages like wine, only gets better with age. But my question is, does kid Rock still make music to this day?

To No liberals and to all that think they grew up in the wrong generation.. Its not about how old you are or how old you feel. Its life. Enjoy it to the fullest. I'm 51 and I like many forms of music. this is a good tune. but always look at older music and newer music as an expression of your self. it never has to be one thing or another. Music moves the soul gang. Just enjoy it.

I'm 51 yrs old & my 15 yr old daughter showed me this video a few day ago...I'M NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT...I'M CRIED IN FRONT OF HER!!! THIS WAS MY LIFE at 17 & 18 yrs old in 1986/1987...I had a white '79 F-100 4x4 SWB, no a/c, 3spd on the column & an excellent Pioneer cassette player that played Hank Williams Jr all the time!!! I told my daughter after I watched this video..."YOU NEED TO ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS, THESE ARE GONNA BE SOME OF THE GREATEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE"!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama.

Good song. Kid was the dude I liked the most out of them late 90s rockers. He can pull off that country sound as well as rock n roll. Glad he strayed away from that Rap rock shit. Fred Durst needs to get the hint. Rock rap is dead, this song is for us older folks. Remembering them good times. Youth!

"... this song is for us older folks." -- or for those who are wise in that time goes by too quick. Honestly, I haven't hit high school yet, but I realize the importance of time and spending time with those you love (both family and relationship-wise). I agree with what you've said - Fred has basically ruined his image with the "rock rap."

And constantly being in the bottom of the worst run states list, while all your jobs and company's keep running to red states(Texas has more fortune five hundred company's than any other state and in the last two mid terms close to five hundred with the majority coming from California with there insane taxes on everyday stuff like gas and bread) , thanks for supporting N.A.F.T.A. and Nutts like Nancy Pelosi Diane Feinstein and Elliot Spencer, run along and keep getting your news from al Sharpton and comedy central and shows how crazy you really are thinking you would make kid rock for get about anything. you do realize in Obamas executive action he made it illegal to protest with in 200 yards of him of the first family punishable by felony arrest, that an American citizen can be held indefinitely with out trial and can have an American citizen killed with out trial or congress's approval. you couldn't just enjoy the song you had to bring up your lame duck mass media Hollywood influenced politics continue to vote for the same people as Paris Hilton and if you respond please tell me what polices made you vote for a man who had to study 12 Hours for a debate for two weeks straight WHEN HE HAD BENN PRESADENT FOR 4 YEARS. great song next time shut up and enjoy the music don't bring religion or politics into it...........Especial when the man supported Obama in 08

Repbulicans core values are less taxes and smaller government democrat is the opposite higher takes and more government.

Okay so I’m like 24 years old right now. I literally just started listening to this song like a year and a half ago but I heard it right when it came out because my ex showed me it. But never decided to fully listen to it til a year ago pretty much. And damn, I can say that it hurts though cause she broke up with me two years ago do to my own selfish reasons which I have finally learned from within the last year. But this song always brings me back to the great times I had with her actually. It’s a bittersweet feeling to reminisce about the old times with her. But man this song is so amazing and very nostalgic. It also gives me hope still.
