All of the moving with crutches comes from the forearms the high is usually off on crutches and most have to go down on height and he should have a slight bend in his elbows when using the crutches , two depending on how long you will be on crutches their are pads which you buy amazon has them. They are called crutch ease they are super nice

Just to make sure I would get another X-ray once the swelling has gone down because sometimes it can be hard to tell on X-rays due to swelling.

I broke my ankle and I didn't listen to the doctor and since I gave a boot I still danced and played softball,soccer,volleyball,cheerleading and I did things I wasn't supposed to do

The beginning scene with the kids is great! I like the idea with the crazy hair! He was awesome!

i have never seen crutches like that before. the only kind of crutches i've seen are the ones where there is a little hoop that goes around just below your elbow with handles which i have to say are so easy to use, and look much easier to use.

Here’s my thing with this. I went to the ER radiology said not broken, doctor said sprained. Was still very painful so I ended up at an orthopedic getting new X-rays because the swelling blocked the 3 hairline fractures I had. I had to be in a cast for almost 9 months. I would still take him to an orthopedic. Swelling can cause a lot of issues with immediate X-rays for small fractures and cracks. His growth plate is also very important. It will continue to grow the whole time he is so he is looking at pain for a long time if not healing correctly

C Kelly yeah same with my finger, the doctor said I was fine, the hospital said it was bruised. The swelling and bruising didn’t go down so we went to the orthopedic and I had a pink pink cast for 3 weeks.

I sprained by ankle in gymnastics. I went and got X-rays immediately and the doctor said it was just sprained. I swelled up double the size and went purple. I got a boot and crutches. I couldn't put any pressure on it for 2 weeks. It was horrible. If a sprain hurts that bad then I can't imagine breaking it. Now 6 months later it still gets very sore and I often re-sprain it.

Omg I have to go back cause they could have done the same thing to me with my toe

I am a nurse who worked in recovery room and have seen plenty of kids where radiologist stayed nothing is broken, seen by ortho and his professional eye said broken, he may not end in cast but how are you going to get an X-ray in a month to make sure he is healed. Took care of a boy who didn’t follow through to make sure everything healed and when he broke his arm doctor than xrayed an he now needed surgery on both arm and ankle and came out in excruciating pain from the manipulation that had to be done for ankle.

Hugs for mommy. You get rest for yourself, it’s stressful sitting in the ER worrying about your child.

I am in my 30's and tripped over my shoe string in May. I have been through 2 casts and just has had surgery on my arm Tuesday. Hope Ethan feels better.

I know this is an old post but I'm glad he was OK! I just had surgery on my right foot ,, I was in the boot from June 24 until October 7 and I'll be back in the boot for another 6 weeks after my cast comes off :( My workers comp dr said no break but then I saw my own orthopedics dr and they read the same MRI and took more xrays and I had broken a bone off and the fragments were stuck in my joint I couldnt put pressure or walk either. I'm so glad your baby didnt have to go through a broke foot! Much love! Take care!!

Definitely make sure that it healed right. I’m 27 and having repercussions from a injury that happened when I was 8-9. Had two doctors look at x-rays and said nothing was wrong. A couple of months ago got new x-rays done and saw an orthopedist surgeon and he took no more than a minute and said “you had two fractures and one healed wrong.” He asked if I was in a full arm cast and I told him no. One fracture shifted no more than 6mm and is now causing my elbow to lock up. Surgery in my future.

Ahhh!!! Poor Ethan hope he gets to feeling better soon and it's a good thing yall getting a second opinion!!! My son was playing football just for fun at school with some friends on Monday Oct 1st and is dealing with a concussion and has to see a neurologist on Tuesday Oct 9th!!!! He couldn't remember things and almost passed out!!!

Please go to the orthopedist no matter what... always get a second opinion. Its nice that your doc friend will look at the xray but the second opinion really should be from a specialist (the orthopedist)...

We just finished going through this with our Ethan. The one thing I wish they would have told us we to have him wear a sock with the boot. It helps with the smell that collected after about a week. Feel better dude and don't push it.

I fractured my growth plate 1 month ago. I am still working on recovery. They put me in a boot for two weeks then a cast for two weeks and then a boot for four weeks now a brace for two weeks. I is a long recovery. And tore a ligament. The doctor said that my foot would never be the same says it was before.

Poor Ethan!!! Here is a tip.. wrap the crutches in quilting batting or something his armpits will be sore! They also have a knee 🛴 to tool around in! I broke my foot while at EFY at BYU. The nurse refused to believe me, LOL! Speedy recovery ❤️

Aww man hope he heals quick. I had to use crutches when I tore a ligament in my thigh, those things are sooo uncomfortable I gave up walking with them after a week. If they get uncomfortable tape some padding around where his arm pits touch so it doesn’t hurt. You can cut up an old towel or an old fluffy blanket just something that’ll make it soft 👍🏼

I also did the same things September 22 I fell coming up my apartment stairs, I had three small breaks, My was tiny also I did have to get a half cast! I can’t use my crutches at all I hope he feels better soon
