I’m in what’s close to the final stages of finishing my knuckle. This guy must have an auto-advance distributor on this beauty. I’m seriously considering going that route again instead of the cable advance which seems really inconsistent for the ignition timing. My panhead runs great with the auto setup and starts easier than this guy’s bike. Just clicked on here for my much needed knucklehead fix,now I’ve opened another whole can of worms. Anyway, thumbs up to whoever owns this OHV and whoever uploaded it,great job folks.

This bike feels like a bike the owner have simply taken from the back of a garden full of scrap parts, car and bike parts and other unimaginable stuff where it supposly have stood and collected rust, simply done a few changes to make it driveable but kept it in a simple, well used condition, and used what's available and simply drove it away in a matter of few hours. It feels like one of those bikes who looks like they've been assembled in a few hours to a few weeks, using what's available.

@moruller You must be looking at the chain guard. Both the primary and drive are chains. Although, it's not unheard of for someone to swap out for a belt drive on a older bike especially when they're running a white wall in the rear.

I come back to this vid from time to time just to get my fix of that sweet sound. And it kind of makes me proud to know that for all the quality that Japanese bikes have, their own people relish the traditional Harley experience. They actually get it! BTW, they love the culture of the American west like cowboys and ranching.

@snowbox22 Well, If I'm seeing things right, the front brake is where it usually has always been, the back brake is on the right side, and the clutch is where the shifter is, but the problem is, I don't see no suicide shift, so who knows?

There is a whole "bobber" sub-culture in Japan. They really take pride in their machines. Real old-school classy rides, not like the hideously painted, chromed up, bolt on crap we see in "custom" magazines over here. I would be honored to ride with them.

@opbk88: 82 hp is a lot for a Sportster considering that they put out about 40 hp from stock. Plus, Brando rode a Thunderbird in The Wild One, which only had about 30 hp.
