Thanks for stopping by! I'm sure by now you know how passionate I am about genealogy and preserving family history. I'm dedicated to teaching those wishing to learn the right way of investigating, analyzing and reporting genealogical findings.
But let's face it, genealogy is just plain fun. I love the hunt, the discovery and the excitement of sharing with others.
What you may not know (besides my lifelong passion for genealogy) is I’ve had a long career in television broadcasting and management. I’m also a wildlife and nature photographer.
Now is the time for me to take all these skills into a new side-kick. I’m using my talents in photography, television, video production, editing, and as a lifelong genealogist, combining those skills together to create the Genealogy TV and NC Ancestry as KZread channels along with similar websites and blogs.
To borrow a line from Jerry Maguire, “help me, help you.” If you like what you see and wish to help support my effort, please consider becoming a Patreon member of Genealogy TV and NC Ancestry.
This will help me bring more enrichment to you. For as little as $1 per month, says you like what I’m doing and want more. Click here to donate and keep more videos and blogs coming.

Genealogy TV Community: KZread recently changed the way they allow us to monetize our channels. We now need a minimum of 1000 subscribers. Sounds daunting right? I’m fully confident I’ll get there and FULLY COMMITTED to bring free genealogy video to family historians. NC ANCESTRY and GENEALOGY TV (2 channels) is where I’ll do that. You could help me out a bunch by SUBSCRIBING. It’s all free and painless, but it would be huge for me. Oh and one more thing… it’s a crazy goal… but I’m trying to get to 1000 subs by Christmas. What a great gift that would be for me- huh? Can you help me get there? Thanks Connie.

Very valuable advice. I vowed when I started to stick with these organizational habits, but I ended up getting so excited and caught up in rushing through my findings that I caused a LOT of backtracking and re-researching many facts. I've gotten myself calmed down and more focused now. I'm retraining my brain to stay on one ancestor at a time and to try and follow a research plan of action. I'm also training myself how to focus on individual research questions. It is so easy to fly the coop and begin scattering my energy in too many directions all at once.

Take your time, get it right. Your ancestors aren't going anywhere. One ancestor at a time. Research Notes are the best tool in your toolbox.

Very helpful information. I recently started after my daughter got me an Ancestry DNA test. I am sure I have gone badly wrong in a few places though, cos I have ancestors from French nobility, English and Scottish Royalty, and am apparently a direct descendant of one of the magna carta barons, William Malet. I feel like starting it all again. I am an English working class woman from North East England, so it can't be right.

I'm turning 74 soon so my parents are gone as well as their siblings. There are still 3 relatives of that generation but they have dementia, so I can't discuss this over the phone with them. It's been frustrating to use the Ancestry "leaves" and Family Search because I'm finding incorrect info and have no idea if other links are correct. Another issue is 'Private' statuses.
