Kibaki's Farewell Speech
Mwai Kibaki handed over power to the team he described as a dynamic duo, the immediate former president was effectively exiting the political stage after about 50 years of service. In his valedictory speech, Kibaki thanked all those who had contributed in one way or the other to his long career and this people ranged from his former constituents in Bahati and Othaya, retired President Daniel Arap Moi who appointed him vice president for 10 years as well as former Prime Minister Raila and former VP Kalonzo Musyoka who helped him steer the grand coalition government whose term effectively came to an end on Tuesday.
