The Kia and Toyota both don't have bench seats for the top trim and only the VW and Honda does but Honda is pretty old for all the factors, so VW wins I think if you need bench seats and the top trim.

Grand highlander front looks like a fish 🐟 . Back looks like a stretch rav4. They should have just called it the grand rav4. It's not good-looking. How can you make a car thats supposed to look lik3 the highlander but better look like a stretch rav4. If I'm paying that type of money for this car which is 50k plus. I'm not trying to buy something that looks like a stretch 30k suv.

Now if you consider the market mark up each brand’s dealer charge is insane. KIA dealer here charges an insane 6K over MSRP on top of the dealer add on packages. So you are looking at a 10k over MSRP.

How can a comparison of family haulers like these not have a word about ride quality? I know there's a comfort category in the comparison, but that was more about interior amenities/space than ride quality, as indicated in the video. That's a major omission imo.

Out of all the vehicles I test drove, the Honda Pilot got my heart immediately. It sits high up with A LOT of visibility, drives so lightly/smoothly, is spacious with the usability of a minivan, and has a naturally aspirated V6. Not to mention the high resale value with 55% after 5 years. Honda really knows how to tune their I-VRTM transmission because the drive train was incredible. Honda for me.

You should have mentioned the trim levels of the vehicles you reviewed. The Kia EX trim level doesn't have the remote second row seat release from the back like you showed. Also, oddly enough, the lower trim models have the backup collision warning, but nothing for the front. I've owned my 2023 Kia Telluride for a year and put about 12,000 miles on it. It's had 3 recalls (side air bag wiring harness, rear speaker crash pad, instrument panel software) and the left rear passenger door could not be opened from inside the vehicle due to unconnected linkage inside the door (warranty repair). The dealer offered a free oil change to which I added a tire rotation which took 2 hours even with an appointment. The mechanic failed to tighten three lug nuts on my RR tire. I won't use the same dealer in the future, and I'll likely trade it in for a Honda Pilot. The Telluride's switchology is quirky (e.g. "automatic" climate control really doesn't adjust fan speed automatically). It should be noted that the Highlander and VW are only available with a 4 cylinder engine whereas the Kia and Honda still come with a 6 cyl standard engine. To get the equivalent power of a 6 cyl engine, Toyota and VW turbocharge their engines, which adds complexity and possibly worse reliability compared to Kia and Honda.

I agree with what you say and I'd add the Grand Highlander hybrid (not the MAX) should have been given more weight in this. If you consider the Grand Highlander's hybrid - which to me is what really sets it apart (Its the only hybrid available in this size vehicle) - the 4 cyl does not have a turbo and, though he mentioned it in passing in the video - the MPG is in the high 30's. Crazy. I'll take Toyota reliability in a tried-and true 4cyl hybrid any day over the others (Toyota has been doing the HiMH/4cyl hybrid for over 20 years now - its proven, reliable technology)

When it comes to value the Kia does Not score well here in Texas as they all have a minimum $5k mark up. Toyota and Honda in my city have a $1500 in silly add one that they require you to get. I was thinking of a fully loaded Kia Telluride at around $54k, but after mark up it is close to $60k. For that price I would rather buy the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max platinum for about the same price with way more power. All I am saying is that all the reviewers say what a great deal you get with a Kia, but in real life you end up paying way more for it, so it is no longer such a great deal. With the mark ups, Kia is no longer a great value.

Toyota still is a reliability giant, but when most of your competitors are reliable you can't get away with price gouging to match the same options others have for a fraction of the cost. Class Action Lawsuits against Honda In addition to the recalls, Honda is facing class action lawsuits that allege serious defects in its vehicles' components. Variable Timing Control Actuator Defect: A class action lawsuit filed against Honda claims that the automaker knowingly sold vehicles with defective variable timing control actuators. The alleged defect, affecting model year 2012-2014 CR-Vs, 2012 Accords, and 2012-2015 Crosstours, can lead to catastrophic engine failure and poses a safety hazard. Defective Electric Power Steering Systems: Two separate class action lawsuits were filed against Honda, asserting that model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles were manufactured with defective electric power steering systems. These systems may "stick," requiring an increase in steering effort, leading to overcorrections and potential collisions. Electric Braking System Sticking: Another class action lawsuit argues that Honda sold model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles with electric braking systems that can stick at highway speeds. This alleged defect can cause vehicle owners to overcorrect, increasing the risk of collisions. THERE IS YOUR HONDA RELIABILITY. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

no point including the currently available traverse as it's long in the tooth and about to get a major overhaul. the explorer is older as well, although I'm not sure if a refresh is coming or what it's sales numbers look like. GC-L is relatively new and could've been included on this list. The 4 vehicles on this comparison make sense, however, as they are all relatively new; GH is brand new, current gen Pilot is like a year old, Atlas just got a refresh within the past year and the Telluride refresh was a bit over a year ago I believe.

Pretty sad that you have a comparison video and you don't even compare how well the vehicles drive on the road. Yes, these vehicles aren't supposed to drive like a sports car, but there are significant differences between these 4 vehicles (I've test driven all of these recently) on how fun they are to drive as well as how safe they make you feel when driving more aggressive. This a poor job of a comparison for such a big company like Edmunds.

Bruh, I already told you that air gas is only available for the 2019-2021 model, but for the 2023 model, the production is different. The Daihatsu case only occurred because it used a DNGA chassis instead of a TNGA and while the DNGA chassis was only sold in poor or developing countries, especially in Southeast Asia and was not sold to western countries such as Europe and America, it was given a TNGA chassis, for example the Yariss Cross for the market. Europe uses TNGA, but Southeast Asia (Daihatsu's market) uses DNGA. Toyota is indeed the umbrella company for Lexus, Hino Motor, Subaru and Daihatsu (including Mazda) but Daihatsu and Mazda have their own chassis, while Toyota (including Lexus) has its own different chassis, namely TNGA. So as long as it's not from a DNGA chassis then it's still safe, after all Americans and Europeans don't really like cars with a DNGA chassis, especially Americans who focus only on TNGA. So this is not a matter of engine reliability but a matter of safety features

Instead, I found the ride annoyingly flinty even on good roads, and the 280 hp base engine woefully under powered for a fun to drive experience. I did not get to drive the PHEV nor the turbocharged versions, as they had not yet reached the dealerships. But the ride was so ....not to my taste... that I did not return to test drive them. But I did rent a CX-5 on a vacation and FOUND THE EXACT SAME RIDE. Must be part of the Mazda sporty drive set up. @@Petchyalater honestly, that’s debatable. Top trims for the Telluride are $53-54K, with the GH hitting just under $60k. So it’s not that much of a gap at $6-7K. Best fuel economy on the GH is from the Hybrid, and runs between $45-55K, right in line with the Telluride. With that, the GH has 37/36 MPG vs Telluride’s 20/26 (FWD) or 18/24 (AWD). That’s certainly not a wash. If you want power, the GH’s HybridMax has 362hp/400 ft/lb torque. Compare that to the Telluride’s 291hp/262 ft/lb torque. That’s a pretty significant difference. And just for comparison sake, the standard hybrid still puts out 245hp. And the HybridMax has an MPG of 27 combined. For the $6-7k difference, it’s definitely nothing to ignore. The options for Toyota give it a clear edge in my opinion. In addition, if you go off Edmunds points awarded in the video, the GH wins by 0.25 across the 4 categories - not the tie he claims in the end (rewatch the first scoring segment).

Seems like this was sponsored by kia. No performance numbers listed. I wonder if they were showing off the grand highlander hybrid max, gets around 27mpg combined. They didnt mention towing either.... I appreciate this not being a 45min video. But there was some things left out, and it seemed like a lot of things were compaired to the Kia.... what about the out dated under powered 3.8L in the kia? 291hp and 262tq........ the toyota has 362hp and 400tq.....

@Petchyalater It shouldn't be a priority, but how well it drives should be taken into account. A cx-90 would score well in this review as it is by far the nicest interior, but it drives way too stiff, and the transmission is a mess. Also ride comfort - the toyota is so soft and floaty it is uncomfortable to be in the 2nd/3rd row if your kids are even remotely prone to motion sickness

Pilot simply drives better than the rest minus hybrid max Toyota GH. It’s interior materials are actually better than the others overall despite having a more boring design. The car’s chassis in the way it rides just feels premium much more like an expensive luxury car. It feels super well put together and composed. I drove all of these cars and pilot just drives better over the rest and has a higher quality substantial feel. That’s more important to me over impressive looking screens the others have. The Korean cars just are cheap feeling to the touch in how they are put together. But they are all good cars in reality just gotta pick what you like best based on your priorities

@@RaY_77W NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) reached a settlement potentially worth $150 million to resolve U.S. class-action litigation tied to recalls of about 3.36 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles whose defective fuel pumps could cause engines to stall. A preliminary settlement was filed on Wednesday night in federal court in Brooklyn. It requires a judge's approval. The settlement covers owners and lessees of dozens of Toyota and Lexus vehicle models manufactured in the 2013 to 2020 model years and equipped with Denso low-pressure fuel pumps. Honda Recalls: Brake and Rearview Camera Defects Honda recently issued recalls for various models due to brake and rearview camera defects. These recalls address potential safety hazards that can result in accidents and injuries. Unexpected Loss of Brake Function: Honda recalled over 124,000 Civic, Passport, and Pilot vehicles, including certain model year 2020-2021 Civic, 2020-2023 Ridgeline, 2021-2023 Passport, 2021-2022 Pilot, and 2020 Acura MDX vehicles. The recall was prompted by concerns that the vehicles could experience an unexpected loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash. Defective Brake Holds: Another recall impacted nearly 400 model year 2023 Civic, Accord, Acura RDX, and Acura Integra vehicles. These vehicles were manufactured with defective brake holds, leading to potential movement while the brake hold is activated. Honda plans to notify impacted vehicle owners by mail, starting from July 24. Rearview Camera Concerns: Honda recalled over 1.1 million Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport vehicles due to defective rearview cameras that may not display properly. This recall applies to model year 2018-2023 Honda Odyssey, 2019-2022 Honda Pilot, and 2019-2023 Honda Passport vehicles. A non-functional rearview camera can compromise the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
