Kia Stinger GT / G70 - Spark Plug Install

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#GenesisG70 #KiaStinger #HowTo
It's time we change the spark plugs on this ceramic silver GT2! Only the best, HKS M45iL! We also installed a Racechip piggyback tune and Borla exhaust. Those videos will be next. I will add chapters to this video below shortly after I release it.
I'm giving ANOTHER SET of these spark plugs away once we get closer to 5K SUBSCRIBERS! To be eligible you must be subscribed to this channel. The rules will be mentioned on the next giveaway announcement video. FREE TO ENTER AND FREE TO WIN.
There is no wrong way to install the plugs. The first time I did mine for the JB4 install, I did the work around with all of the swivel sockets. I will be changing mine next time and will post my own step by step install vid. Everything is in this video that you need to know.

A future solution to make this real easy is to install a plenum spacer. One of the Stinger guys made a one inch spacer. It increased HP and TQ and as a side benefit, gives full access to the passenger side plugs.

Good for you that you found a couple “Stinger Winger” buddies. Great fun working on your Stinger with Wingers. Personally I don’t think removing the manifold is worth the extra effort. Once you remove the “trouble plug” a couple times it’s a snap. I am however considering the manifold spacer.🤗 cheers

Nice work as usual. Doesn’t look to hateful to do. Not required to replace o ring gasket’s ? May consider in the future. I changed plugs and left the plenum in place. Definitely a trial in patience. Knowing my luck I’m covering intake ports cus I’d end dropping something on one of those holes.🤣

Great video, thank you very much. The intake manifold gasket wasn't replaced, it's OK to re-use without any issues? I remember having to replace it when I had a Nissan VQ35DE engine and had to remove intake plenum to get at a bank of spark plugs.

It’s unfortunate, several modified and non modified get this. It’s the turbo wastegate actuator rod squeaking. This video is not my car, but I do also have this happening again on my right turbo

The fans will run with the car off if its hot outside and the engine is in danger of heat soaking.. well now ya know and kids "Do not hack any wires on your car no matter how kool it seems" it will cause corrosion issues and or increase the resistance in that circuit inevitably wires or wire will run warmer due to resistance 😉.

Not to brag, but I managed to change that PITA middle passenger side plug with out removing the intake. The trick is to remove the other two coils first, disconnect their connectors, and remove them, then you should be able to finagle the middle coil out with some twisting and pulling. Took me about an hour to do the passenger side, but I do have a lot of extensions and universal joints. The right tools make all the difference.

They are tuned as well though, but it may be a faulty part due to it being a relatively new car still.

thanks 👊 you’re def faster than me, I did the work around on mine the first time, but it took me more than 15 mins to thread all the spark plugs in and out. Threads for days.. The work around is easy, but the middle one on the passenger side could get cross threaded if you’re not very careful. This way took around 45 mins which isn’t bad. I will make one doing it the other way on my car here in a few thousand miles

Hey! Yes it will. My first mod was intakes, and once I put the cat back on I kept going into limp mode from over-boosting. It wasn’t every single time but it was often. I did the plugs after that hoping it would help but if anything it did it more. The JB4 fixed it and I daily map 3 with e30 and haven’t had it happen since. Guys, why didn't you do the hot water line removal from the throttle body while you had it at a super easy "state"/ " position " to perform this very essential task? Thing is guys, your expensive C.A.I are not doing you any good at all, with that hot water line still connected to your throttle body, your " cold-air" is getting "baked" before it enters the intake plenum. I can 100% promise you, whence you remove and cap off the hot water inlet jets, and couple the two hotwater lines together, you will absolutely notice a huge, and I mean HUGE!! Throttle response and lightening fast acceleration, as well as a much faster transmission shifting pattern. I can not stress enough that you MUST remove and splice together the hot water lines, and then you will absolutely get all the benefits from your C.A.I install, and much faster throttle response.
