Kia Niro Plus Review - Larger and Better?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Let’s go for a night drive with the Kia Niro Plus, which is a taller version of the 1st generation Kia Niro EV. Could it be better than all new 2023 Kia Niro? Well, that’s what we are going to find out throughout this night drive. This new Kia Niro is definitely more spacious inside because Kia increased the height by 3inches and it is about 0.4inch longer than the previous Kia Niro EV. Currently, Kia is selling the Kia Niro Plus as a Taxi or Camping-car. So, let’s go for a night drive with Kia Niro Plus and see how you like it.

Thanks for another look at this, Charlie. It looks like a great family or camping vehicle, it's awesome that they prioritize camping cars in your region. You're so close to 200k subscribers now, it should be only a few days for you to reach that milestone, very well done and thanks for all the work you and your team put into these videos.

Hi. An interesting review... I am in Australia and am considering buying a Niro Plus - a very practical vehicle - love the camping option! I prefer the styling of the former Niro to the current S and GT-line.

Obviously Hyundai has noticed the general need for a more spacious and practical car. I hope that their new models will reflect that somewhat more in future and add versions that offer more interior space and practicality on a more moderate price level. Even when this might not include the full list of gadget features.

The average electric car car time for charging @ a charge station is 45 min. Why is that when it takes 20 min in Korea? And how long does it take from a home charging port in Korea?

Well, that just depends on the speed of the charger. I have 7kW charger and it takes about 5 hours to charge 1/2 of the battery. So, it's just matter of which charger you use. Thank you Ellis.

"Bigger and better"? I don't think so, the Niro and its Hyundai siblings IMHO are not so well built as their manufacturer (Hyundai Motor Group) does. Just as what I have noticed in my knowledge before, Hyundai and Kia were used to be known for selling cars at low prices and despite its shift towards high-end products meant that Hyundai might even look towards buying and managing car manufacturers that has been in existence for decades before Hyundai was established. Ford or Volvo in particular, but as Geely already owns the latter from the former since 2010 meant that a Hyundai-Geely partnership may not be bigger and better even with the Chinese marque gained unwanted attention during the time it bidded to acquire Sweden's only leading carmaker - which turned 95 this year - from the Blue Oval thirteen years ago. But likewise while Geely already contains Lynk & Co, that British taxicab maker, Proton of Malaysia and Lotus (another United Kingdom-based marque), the China-based automaker - which is not under government control unlike SAIC and Dongfeng - already has more interests in making zero-emission vehicles and compared to Ford they are quickly-timed because in my thinking that Chinese brands have already been dwarfing Hyundai/Kia whilst the latter already has its sales in the former declining. Especially AFAIK Geely has been recognised for buying Volvo and Lotus so maybe deal between Hyundai and Geely would lead to Hyundai and Kia-badged Geely, or I mean, Volvo cars - just take a look at the people who are were known in Volvo like Briton Peter Horbury (who worked for Volvo as a designer since 1991 even after the Swede merged between Ford and Geely as he later moved to the latter following its 2010 purchase)...

Robert D-Niro is not a fan of "namesake" as he is a short being & also shortsighted ... Kia Niro Plus night drive gives a different take on this vehicle ... Should do well for intended market segment ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
